I am extremely grateful to CDNIS for these past 6 years. I have loved every part Susie Richardson
of the journey and will miss the staff, students and families immensely. This
school has been a home away from home for me and welcomed me with open
arms when I first moved to Hong Kong. I will miss the friendly and caring
nature of our school most. Thanks for all of the memories.

Parting is such sweet sorrow.
I spent seven glorious years at
CDNIS, two as a supply
teacher and five having to do
marking. It has comfortably
been my favourite place of
work in my much varied
career. Staff and the students
alike have filled my days with
good humoured mirth and
rarely a day passed without
laughter. My plan is to semi
retire in Hong Kong.

been the most amazing journey with so many highs. Amazing, challenging, rewarding and

As a teacher you have an impact on the lives of the students you teach. But I feel the
students have impacted my life, teaching me much more than they will ever know.
Although I am very sad to leave CDNIS and the city of Hong Kong that I have loved and
called home for 28 and half years, I am now looking forward to the next chapter in my life.
But the future beckons and something I am looking forward to is always being able to visit
the many friends I have made over the years. As Alan Dick always said “take the road less
traveled.” and I certainly will.

Landing at CDNIS two years ago after
being COVID refugees here in Hong
Kong, provided many opportunities to
practice the skills I preach: adaptability
and resilience. I have learned a great deal
and made many new friends, not to
mention the students I’ve connected
with. I have most enjoyed the incredible
community here at CDNIS, and feel if I
have contributed at all to the overall
sense of being a part of something bigger
than oneself, then it was a successful two
years. Last but not least, remember: it’s
