Giesen Wines was founded in 1981 by three brothers Theo, Alex and Marcel Giesen from Germany.
As adventurous young men, the Giesen brothers travelled the world finally settling in New Zealand,
where they agreed that Marlborough was the ideal place to grow grapes. From their first vintage, the
Giesen brothers' sense of adventure and determination has shaped their stunning wines. The Giesen
family owns some of the oldest and most sought after parcels in the Wairau Valley, including the
highly acclaimed Clayvin vineyard. The three brothers love getting together with family and friends;
sharing a meal, enjoying a wine and celebrating another day. They invite you to do the same.
Wine is practically running in the veins of Theo,
Alex and Marcel Giesen. For centuries, their
family members have been involved in the
culinary and wine trades, as sommeliers,
restaurateurs and other related careers.
