Dear Dr. Bent-Harley:

I am writing to thank the Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority for continuing to support my education
through the generous academic scholarship I received. This scholarship pushes me to continue to
strive for excellence in my pursuit of becoming a well-rounded and educated physician. Being a
FDHA scholar is an honor and it demonstrates that I am supported in my aspirations. Your support
has provided me with more confidence and reassurance in my abilities to succeed and has lessened
the financial burden of completing medical school.

I am currently a second-year student in the Doctor of Medicine program, and I am from Atlanta. I
attended undergraduate school at the University of Georgia. Following graduation from medical
school, I hope to specialize in pediatrics. Working with children has always been a passion of mine
because of the youth’s livelihood, innocence, and potential for growth and change. I would like to
work in the primary care setting because I appreciate the long-term doctor-patient relationship it
allows for.

My experience thus far at Morehouse School of Medicine has exceeded my expectations. Morehouse
School of Medicine has offered me a myriad of opportunities to get involved in the community, to
connect with numerous physicians, and to explore my passion for helping others. Through my
journey here, I have learned more about myself each day, and I am proud of who I am becoming. My
ultimate goal is to inspire the youth, especially minorities, to not give up on their dreams and that
anything is possible through hard work. Thank you once again for all of your support. Your
generosity is greatly appreciated, and I hope to continue to make you proud.
