Dear Dr. Bent-Harley:

I am writing to thank the Fulton-DeKalb Health Authority for the scholarship I received. As a native of
DeKalb County and medical student who has served on the healthcare teams for Grady’s patients, I truly
understand the vital role that Grady Health System plays in both Fulton and DeKalb County, and even the
region. So many people in Atlanta, including some of my family members, would go untreated if it were
not for the Grady Health System. As a physician, it is my goal to be able offer the same quality care to
the underserved of Fulton and Dekalb County residents and to be able to positively impact my patients
just as I have seen Grady impact its patients and the city of Atlanta.

I am a second-year student from Lithonia, Georgia. I am an alumna of Xavier University of Louisiana,
where I obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology and Hampton University, where I received a Master of
Science in Medical Science. Since last year, I have worked to solidify my role as a student leader on
campus. This school year, one task I am most proud of helping my peers to execute is establishing an
official Morehouse School of Medicine Ambassadors organization. The purpose of this organization is to
provide a select group of students at Morehouse, who embody the mission of the institution, to recruit and
represent the school for various events such as Medical School Interview Days, Hugh Gloster Society
Celebration, and Board of Trustees and other distinguished guest tours. As a co-chair for the Morehouse
School of Medicine Ambassadors, I look forward to expanding the organization even more and
representing and serving the institution that I have come to fall in love with during my time here as a
student and Fulton DeKalb Health Authority Scholar.

Once again, thank you for your generous scholarship donation. As a student at Morehouse School of
Medicine, I will continue to work hard, both academically and as servant leader to be able to actively
improve the health status and health outcomes of those who live in the surrounding communities.
