priate), are eager sportsmen and, indeed, many are excellent sportsmen, e.g.:—

We hope these few lines are indicative of the wonderful diversity of interests
and variety of activities that go together to give form 5A 1 its unfading reputa
tion for hard work and good sportsmanship.

        FORM 5A2D
                FORM TEACHER : Miss Nixon.
FORM CAPTAINS : Dagmara Rosickus, Graham Critchley.
Residing in the gloomy depths of Room 3, with their UNDERSIZED desks,
floral decorations and table cloth, lies a motley looking group of students who
work under the disguise of 5A 2.
After surviving the onslaught of the Junior examination, with Janet Kerr
        gaining top honours with 7 A's and 1 B, we returned to be Wynnum's first 5A 2
(we could be the last with this year's effort!. Unfortunately, our past students
have now reached near astronomical numbers, but we have managed to retain our
importations from other schools, these being Graham Chamberlain (Biloela),
Nicholas Edmunds (England), Dace Blums (Domestic High) and Helen Rothwell
(Tully; we believe it to be a lonely outpost in. North Australia).
Our bright lights in "The valley of the shadow of education" are Janet Kerr
(Arts), Graham Critchley (Science), whilst even brighter lights glow in the
        sphere of sport.
        GIRLS :
Hockey : Rosalyn Smith, Edris Ross, Janet Kerr, Necia Barber, Helen
        Rothwell, Dace Blums.
Tennis: Vera Zubervich, Geraldine Thompson (1961 School Champion).
Basketball : Margo Martin, Janelie Day, Dagmara Rosickus (A Grade Capt.),
        Glenda Lind, Beverley Sharp.
Rhonda Williams remains the sole golf enthusiast. Needless to say, many
cf the talented girls attend verse speaking and choir practices (as all good girls
should do) and represent us in G.P.S. events.
Now for the more manly pursuits of the forms:—
            Rugby League players :
A Grade : Graham Chamberlain, Rodney Chadwick, Peter Triplett.
C Grade : Jim (Tex) Stahlut, Dennis Thams, Eldon Kelk.
9 stone : Hugh Davis, Bill Sturgess (Capt. and top point scorer).
8 stone : David Illingworth, Peter Shaw (Vice-Capt.).
