World Buddhist Stamps Gallery
In 2019, the Yayasan took the bold step of setting up the first and
only World Buddhist Stamps Gallery. It was indeed a very
creative idea. The idea came about because an active Buddhist
leader, Bro Leong Kok Hing had a large collection of Buddhist
stamps which he wished to give away. We viewed the Buddhist
stamps as cultural treasure which should be preserved,
documented and displayed. Hence, we approached him for the
stamps and set up the gallery. Creativity can come about when
we are able to synergise various conditions into a wishful
product.
Nowadays visitors to Penang, particularly Buddhist visitors,
would like to visit the gallery instead of the stereotype way of
visiting temples.
