                        Mount Wutai, also known by its Chinese name Wutaishan, is a sacred Buddhist site at the headwaters of the


                        Qingshui in Shanxi Province, China. Mount Wutai is one of the Four Sacred Mountains in Chinese Buddhism.


                        Wutai is the home of Manjusri, Bodhisattva of wisdom. The sacred mountain hosts over 53 monasteries and

                        is home to many of China’s most important monasteries and temples.






                        The “Wutai Mountain Map” from Dunhuang Caves is a mural painting done during the Five Dynasties (907–


                        960 AD) depicting a monastery detail of the Wutai Mountain over 1000 years ago.
