P. 29
Choosing fear of uncertainty?
Life is ever-changing and unpredictable. We must learn to
face it out-front with whatever comes. We will suffer when
we seek the illusion of safety for fear, a defiling* mental
state, because we do not understand reality in its true
perspective and that can only be found within.
Realising the Dhamma through Understanding.
Dwelling in the past and predicting the future?
Being anywhere but the now keeps us from realising our
present. We might enjoy our memories if we aren’t attached
to having it be the same now as it was then. We can aspire to
the future if we accept it as it comes but not a certainty.
Being mindful of our life right now goes to say that we have
cultivated a lot of merits in our past lives. Compared to
other life forms, the human being is a very sophisticated and
complex entity in that he has a mind to think rationally and
logically. Thus we should have gratitude for our life and use
this opportunity to cultivate to get out of this samsara.
Blaming others for our suffering?
Each time we play the victim or we blame someone or
something else we claim our power, our right, our throne to
live our best life to the whim of circumstances.
It goes to mean we experience ourself as having no power or
control over our mind, our life. We build resentment, fear and
anger that saps our mental energy and limits our knowing.
When we empower ourself we use our Understanding of the
Dhamma and the Realisation to nurture our inner wisdom to
cultivate the Noble Eightfold Path in creating a life that flows
in harmony and liberating us out of this samsara.
