Hygienic Practices, Uninfected cuts and sores
If a crewmember has uninfected cuts and sores, he/she can
continue to work with food, provided the wound is completely
covered with a clean, appropriate plaster that is:
➢ waterproof
➢ brightly coloured (usually blue).
Food handlers can spread bacteria that cause food
poisoning if you have:
➢ an infected cut or sore
➢ a skin condition that results in broken skin
➢ any other skin infection.
