                َنو ُ رَّكَفَتَی  ࣲ م ۡ وَقِل ةَیاـَل كِل ⁠ َ  ٰ ٰذ یِف َّنِإ  ۚ ِ ساَّنلِل ءاَفِش    ِهيِف ۥ  ٰ ٰ َ ولأ  ٌ فِلَتخُْم با َ رَش اَهِنوُطُب نِم ُج ُ رخَی لاُلذ ِك ب َ ر َلُبُس یِكُل ۡ سٱف َ

              And your Lord inspired the bees: “Make ˹your˺ homes in the mountains, the trees, and in
              what people construct, and feed from ˹the flower of˺ any fruit ˹you please˺ and follow the
              ways your Lord has made easy for you.” From their bellies comes forth liquid of varying
              colours, in which there is healing for people. Surely in this is a sign for those who reflect.

               Saccharine substance deposited by the hive bee, Apis mellifera, family Apidae, in
               the cell of the honeycomb.

               Collection and  The worker bees take nectar from the flowers and pass it through
               preparation        the oesophagus into the honey sac. Sucrose present in nectar on
                                  mixing with the saliva which contain invertase is hydrolysed to
                                  invert sugar. On arrival at the hive the bee deposited the honey
                                  sac contents in a previously prepared cell.
               Characters         Honey is a clear syrupy liquid of a pale yellow or reddish-brown
                                  colour. The odour and taste depend very largely on the flower
                                  used.
               Constituents       It consists mainly of invert sugar and water. It contains small
                                  quantities of sucrose, dextrin, volatile oil, and pollen grains.
               Uses                   •  Treatment of stomach and intestine complaints.
                                      •  Nutritive.
                                      •   Sweeting agent.
                                      •   Demulcent.
                                      •   Preservative
