RURAL HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENT



               National project for the development of Egyptian villages that deserve

               care

               Duration of the project:
               From Year 2018 - To Year 2022

               Project Description
               The project is the development of Egyptian villages economically,
               socially and urban, which represent 57% of the population of the Arab
               Republic of Egypt through a series of programs, including the following
               activities.
                 Improving sanitation services

                 Improving electricity services
                 Upgrading health services
                 Improve the quality of education

                 Improving social services and public services
                 Improving the environmental situation and dealing with solid waste
                 Strengthen road networks to connect villages to each other
                 Upgrading youth and sports services
                 Literacy for the age group 15 to 35 years

                 Raising the efficiency of veterinary units
                 Raising the economic level of the citizens of these villages


               The project is to be implemented in time stages. The first phase includes

               the  implementation  of  the  project  with  78  villages  in  26  governorates

               with 3 villages in each governorate. The priorities for implementing the


               infrastructure projects are drinking water, sanitation, paving roads and

               electricity.



               Rural development and digital era (rural development model)
               UNDP  in  cooperation  with  the  Ministry  of  Communications  and

               Information  Technology  created  the  Egypt  ICT  Trust  Fund  as  a
               mechanism  to  foster  socio-economic  development  through  the

               promotion of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and
               digital literacy.

                 8,800  women  in  rural  areas    taught  to  read  and  write  through  ICT
                   solutions
