6) Health office services: include birth and death registration, post
mortem examination, vaccination, environmental sanitation,
health education, and control of communicable diseases.
7) Dental care services: include examination, treatment and referral.
8) Health education: achieved within all other services.
2. Curative Services: it includes
1) Outpatient clinics for early diagnosis and treatment.
2) First aid and emergency services.
3) Laboratory services for simple investigations.
4) Pharmacy.
3. Outreach Programs:
These mobile clinics provide care in fixed day/week to help in follow
up for the cases. Every clinic has one doctor and one qualified nurse.
Include:
1) For home visit: as immunization campaigns.
2) Equipped mobile units: as family planning, antenatal care.
Rural health facilities
1. Health units: Each unit covers a population of 5.000 to 20.000. It
provides preventive care (MCH services, family planning, and
immunization) and curative care at outpatient clinics.
2. Family health centers: Covers a large population of 20.000 to 50.000.It
provides preventive and curative care at outpatient clinics, plus other
services as laboratory, x –rays, pharmacy and emergency care.
3. Hospital: Provide preventive and specialty of curative care for
populations more than 50.000.
