II. Environmental factor.
Unsanitary environment has a great impact on health status and arising
of health problems.
Rural populations at risk
1. Farm workers: Agricultural workers are exposed to hazards every
day and receive a few injury prevention educations.
2. Adolescence: This age group is more risky to diseases due to lack
of nutrition while they in stage of growth and development.
3. The elderly: Rural elders needs for specialists for provide health
care as chronic illness. So community services required to maintain
ill elders in their homes may not be available in rural communities.
4. Perinatal client: Such as pregnant women, new parents that need
the skills of rural community health nurses.
5. Under 5 years: This age group are more liable
to infectious, nutritional diseases due to:-
Lack mother's care to their children.
Frequent pregnancy.
Use unclean water leading to parasitic
diseases
Problems of rural community in Egypt:
I. Health problems
1) Higher morbidity.
The rural people suffer from endemic diseases which are communicable
and nutritional deficiency diseases.
A. Infectious diseases :-
Diseases of food borne e.g. infective diarrheal
disease, poliomyelitis, virus hepatitis
Diseases of respiratory infection e.g.
pulmonary tuberculosis, pertussis.
Diseases as of contact infection e.g. infective skin diseases
