               problems and provides the basic health services for the population


               Intended Learning Objectives of Course (ILOs)


               a.  Knowledge and Understanding:

                   1. Define the concept of rural community, suburban and urban areas.
                   2. List the most common characteristics of rural community.
                   3. List the main problems of the rural community.

                   4. Identify rural health services.

                   5. Identify the referral system.
                   6. State the barriers to rural health care.
               b. Intellectual Skills:

                   1. Plan and implement nursing process to care of the family.

                   2. Discuss the role of community health nurse in rural areas.
               c.  Professional and Practical Skills
                   1. Assess the existing hazards in the rural environment

                   2. Provide nursing  care based  on the assessment and  identification  of
                   needs and problems

                   3. Compare  the  actual  role  of  community  health  nurse  with  the  ideal
                   role in the rural areas.

                  1.  Apply nursing care plan according to identified needs
