III. Education and culture problem
High illiteracy rate (more in female).
Faulty health related habits and behavior of the public.
Faulty traditional beliefs.
IV. Environmental problems.
Sanitation of rural environment in developing countries is not
satisfactory in general and contributes to the problem of communicable
diseases and other health hazards. The environmental problems in rural
areas due to the following;
1. Poor village planning
2. Poor housing regarding ventilation, overcrowding, presence of
animals near man.
3. Poor water supply.
4. Poor food sanitation.
5. Poor sewage and refuse disposal.
6. Poor insect and rodent control.
Rural Health Services.
1. Preventive services: either for the community or vulnerable
groups.
It includes:
1) Maternal and child health care services: antenatal, natal, postnatal
care, child care till school age, home visits for both the mother and
the child.
2) Family planning services: include examination, counseling.
3) Communicable diseases control: early detection, prevention and
control of communicable diseases. Provide obligatory vaccinations
in the first year of age.
4) Endemic and parasitic disease control: routine examination,
detection of cases, referral, early treatment and follow up.
5) Environmental sanitation services: include water, food sanitation.
