o All drones must be registered a the FAA Drone ZONE You can also locate additional
drone requirements and information.
o Registration must be renewed every 3 years.
o sUAS requires a foreign aircraft permit if the sUAS is:
o If the operator is a not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Section 2: After you are Registered
o The sUAS must be marked to reflect it has been registered.
o The registration marking must be in the following formats:
o A unique identifier number. The issued FAA registration number or serial number if
authorized during registration.
o Legible and durable
▪ Engraved
▪ Permanent Marker
▪ Self-adhesive Labels
o Visibly externally
Section 3: Summarizing FAA Requirements
o A airworthiness certificate is not required for sUAS.
o All sUAS must be maintained in condition for safe operation
o Remote PIC is responsible for inspecting the aircraft prior to each flight. This will ensure
it si in a condition for safe operation.
o Remote PIC should not operate any sUAS if they are aware the sUAS is no longer in a
condition that will would comply to the safe operation requirements. For more
information on the safe operation requirements got the FAA website.
Section G & H – Questions
