In addition to the FAA accident reporting requirements. The National Transportation Safety
Board (NSTB) accident reporting requirements are defined in 14 CFR Part 830, The reporting
process is the same as the sUAS for manned aircrafts, and they are as follows:
o Accident involving death or serious injury
o Flight control system malfunction or failure, such as a sUAS fly-away event.
o Inability of a required flight crew member to preform normal flight duties due to illness
or injury.
o In-flight fire, most likely associated with batteries in the case of a remote pIC.
o Aircraft collision in flight
o Release of all or portion of the a propeller blade in flight.
While these events are reportable. The NTSB may not conduct an investigation if there is no
signficant damage. Accidents should be reported to the NTSB Response Operations Center at
844-373-9922.
Section E & F – Questions

Part G – FAA Inspections
o You must make available to the FAA, upon request the sUAS for inspection.
o You must verify before your flight all required documentation is available (physically or
electronically) to submit to the FAA. The FAA requested documents are as follows:
Section 1: The FAA requested documents are as follows:
o Pilot Certificate
o Aircraft Registration
o Any necessary waiver or exemption
o Any other documents related to the operation of the sUAS
Part H – sUAS Registration and Types of Required Registration
sUAS just like other types of aircrafts must be registered with the FAA before the sUAS is
operating within the NAS.
Section 1: sUAS registration requirements
o If it weighs more than 55 pounds (24.948 kg)
o If it is operated under Part 107 of Part 101.
o The owner must be at least 16 years of age.
o The owner must be a U.S. citizen or resident alien with a green card
