Employees can only order Electric vehicles unless you have an approved deviation for an alternative vehicle as specified by UK Fleet. Electric vehiclesmust have a range of 225 miles on a full charge.Q. IF I OPT FOR AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE, HOW DO I GET A CHARGEPOINT INSTALLED AND WHO COVERS THE COST?A. The employee is responsible for any installation at their home. Employee can contact directly British Gas and pay the total amount in a lump sum. Please note thatArval will only be able to add the cost into the total length of the lease (48 months) when a company car is ordered and before receiving the vehicles. Q. ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS IF I ORDER AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE?A. The only restriction on an electric vehicle is it must have a full charge range of 225 miles and be within your car allowance/grade. Q. CAN I HAVE A FUEL CARD FOR ELECTRIC ONLY?A. No. the employee is responsible for arranging their own electric charge card but will be reimbursed at the HMRC Advisory Electric rate based on the Telematics data. Please note that Abbott has taken the decision to pay an additional 4p per business mile to support the electrification of Abbott fleet. The enhanced rate may be updated or discontinued at any time.Q. WILL THE COMPANY PAY FOR HOME CHARGING?A. No, the employee is responsible for charging their vehicle at home every night that they are inresidence and this cannot be reimbursed.Q. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CHARGE A CARA. There are three factors to take into consideration when it comes to vehicle charge times:1. The size of the battery2. The onboard charging capacity3. The charge point and its power capacityRecommendation %u2013 do not charge a full EV at home with a 3-pin plug, do not use extension cable for Safety reasons. Only use the manufacturer%u2019s provided charging cables as otherwise this will invalidate the vehicles warranty.We strongly recommend you contact the manufacturer or Arval if you have technical questions as they are qualified to provide advice. Q. CAN I PURCHASE CHARGING CABLES ON EXPENSES?A. No.
