                                    64 Double Maxim Chocolate BrowniesPreparation time:30 minutesCooking time:30 minutesServes: 16IngredientsFor the brownies:440ml Double Maxim180g unsalted butter210g dark chocolate (70% minimum)120g plain flour1 tsp salt240g caster sugar1 tsp vanilla extract3 large eggsFor the icing:75g icing sugar75g cream cheese%u00bd tsp Double MaximStout and chocolate has for a long time gone hand in hand for cake-based desserts. But despite Double Maxim brown ale being a firm Wearside favourite, the match isn%u2019t a common one. Until now, anyway. Instructions1. Put the Double Maxim in a pan (holding a little back for the icing) and simmer for 20 minutes until it has reduced by two thirds. Pour out into a heatproof bowl and set aside.2. Pre heat the oven to 200%u00b0C/180%u00b0C fan oven. Grease and line a 20cm baking tin with baking paper.3. Put the butter and chocolate into the pan put on a low heat and stir until they have melted.4. Put the flour, salt and sugar in a large bowl and mix. Add the vanilla essence, then mix in the eggs one at a time. Add the chocolate and butter mix with the Double Maxim, folding it in until they are just mixed.5. Pour the mixture into the tin and cook for 30 minutes. Then let it cool.6. For the icing mix the icing sugar with the cream cheese and Double Maxim. Then drizzle it over the top of the brownies and allow to cool before cutting the brownies into rectangles.
