30EXHIBITION ROAD CULTURAL GROUPFreya Stannard, DirectorI have been exceptionally lucky to have worked in this unique, historic cultural district for nearly five years. However, it was only this summer that I took on the role of Director of Exhibition Road Cultural Group (ERCG) and our external marketing brand Discover South Kensington. A role of what dreams are made of! ERCG is the coming together of 22 leading museums, galleries, academic institutions and performance venues in art, science and innovation. The Group exists to support the enrichment of the cultural quarter and enhance the experience for people who visit, study, work and live here. A huge part of my role is to work with residents to understand how the group can support the thriving community that lives in the area.SOUTH KEN ZEN+Over the last year, the ERCG team, has been focusing on our ambitious sustainability programme: South Ken Zero Emissions, Nature Positive (ZEN+). We aim to support the neighbourhood in reducing carbon emissions and increasing biodiversity by 2030. We have made huge progress and for the first time we have set an emissions baseline for the Group which will help focus interventions and track changes over time. We have also developed a collective %u2018Charter for a Sustainable Supply Chain%u2019 which our members are gradually adopting. Most organisations%u2019 Greenhouse Gas Emissions derive not from the fuel we burn directly, but from the fuel that is burned in our value chain %u2013 by our suppliers and visitors. The Charter helps us set a standard for ourselves in terms of what we CAROL SEYMOUR-NEWTONCarol plays a pivotal role in the preparation of the Annual Report and Autumn and Spring newsletters that provide the glue that binds our Knightsbridge community together. Her encyclopaedic knowledge of the area never fails to come up with the article, contact or precedent needed to solve any dilemma. Thank you, Carol, for continuing to radiate the KA%u2019s message to the wider community.ANNE WRIGHT We are very grateful to Anne for her active contribution to the Law & Order committee while continuing to work as a practicing lawyer. Thank you for renewing and maintaining contacts with our respective Council%u2019s Police teams and for your contributions at Licensing hearings. SAMER YOUNIS Thank you for photographic evidence of things going well and not so well within the Knightsbridge streetscene despite overseas commitments that have kept you away for much of 2024. The floral displays in Ennismore Mews continue to bring joy to residents and passers-by and are being emulated by others in the neighbourhood. The 2024 Festival in full swing
