If the practitioner needs to plan the questions this is possible but it should still be a child-centred observation. If the child or young person repeatedly engages in the same activity, careful observations should be made and then it is possible to pre-plan a range of questions and directions. Another time that the child or young person chooses the same activity then the practitioner can use some of their planned Blank questions and directions if they fit exactly with what the child or young person is doing.3. Complete the observations over time and record the child or young person%u2019s responses to occasional questions and directions in as wide a range of situations as possible and incorporating as many of the child or young person%u2019s interests. A Blank approach should be an ongoing monitoring and support strategy.4. A child or young person can be said to be functioning at a certain Blank Level when they can demonstrate an understanding of 80% of questions and directions at that Level and across a variety of situations. An example for a child or young person who likes and has an interest in dinosaursQuestion Blank LevelWhat is this?
