UNLEASHES NEW SINGLE, ‘LEAVE THEM BE’
Call yourself a fan of the North East music scene? Then you’re in for a treat this month as we have a jam-packed gigging schedule featuring some of the brightest up-and coming stars from across the region. On Wednesday 3rd August, join us in Stockton for another fascinating cross- genres night featuring Elephant Red (alt-rock), Tino Johnson (blues-rock), Feever (garage landfill indie-rock revival), and The Running Free (alt-rock). And just one day later, we host a singer-songwriter showcase featuring Jay Moussa-Mann, Alistair James and Josh Atkinson. Singer-songwriter Jay uses her filmmaking background to create songs that tell stories. Her previous single ‘American Tennessee’ was chosen in the roundup of BBC Introducing Tees' Best of 2021 and it won Track of the Week on BBC Tees Introducing. Expect an upbeat night of ska on Friday 5th as we welcome The Skapones and Goodsprings to Teesside. The Skapones are an original 2-Tone Ska band based in the Tees Valley. Their debut original album of material, 'Cradle To Grave', was released to critical acclaim in early 2018 - and two No.1's in the UK Reggae charts soon followed. 2021 saw them release their 10th single before the recording of new album, 'Northern Gods', got underway. They have played with The Specials, Madness, The Beat, The Selecter and many, many more established ska bands. Metal fans are in for a treat on Saturday 6th as we bring Graviter, Stone Cold Abyss, Mortal Chain and Avarice to Stockton for a hard-hitting, adrenaline-pumping night of music. On Wednesday 10th August, we host our first ‘Summer Session’ which has been put in place to support young, up-and-coming artists. The evening’s line-up features a mixture of genres including indie-pop band Provenance, math-rock outfit Raising Romulus and singer-songwriter, Emily Whincup. On Thursday 11th August, with the help of The Northern Music Collective, we host our first North East music industry panel evening. Featuring artists Dressed Like Wolves and Ruby Watkins, as well as industry experts including Snaz Craig (Afterlight Management), Laura Rosierse (Llively Music) and Adam Gallagher (Famous Last Words, Munro Festival and The Middlesbrough Empire), the casual, laid-back environment will offer attendees the chance to gain industry insight and advice whilst making important industry connections to help with their music journey. Other notable highlights in August including the return of Ocean Floor (Friday 12th), more summer sessions with Mally (Wednesday 17th) and The Collectors, The Warrens and Stupid Pool (Wednesday 24th), with more gigs still to be announced. Hartlepool’s Gaz Price is a brutally honest singer-songwriter that is passionate about the town he was brought up in. Writing hard-hearted songs about life, his upbringing and his surroundings, Gaz has been fine-tuning his craft and honing his skills for the last few years. New track, ‘Leave Them Be’, is a thought-provoking single about mob mentality and that air of invincibility felt when you’re fuelled up and ready to create some carnage. Having recently supported the likes of Andrew Cushin, Social Room, Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets) and even performing at The Libertines’ own Albion Rooms, we’re expecting big things from Gaz in 2022. You can listen to ‘Leave Them Be’ now on all major streaming platforms. LEE ALLCOCK
