Bachelor Preparatory Programme (BPP)
Minimum Duration: 6 Months, Maximum Duration: 2 Years,
Course Fee: Rs. 1,000, Minimum Age: 18 Years, Maximum
Age: No bar, Eligibility: No formal qualification
Programme overview
This Programme is offered by the University to those stu-
dents who wish to do Bachelors Degree of IGNOU but do
not have the essential qualification of having passed 10+2.
In absence of such a qualifying certificate these student
are deprived of higher education. To enable such students
to enter higher education stream, IGNOU has designed this
preparatory Programme. This is an enabling programme of
the University but is not equivalent to 10+2.
BSc (General)
Minimum Duration: 3 Years, Maximum Duration: 6 Years,
Course Fee: Rs. 10,500, Age no bar, Eligibility: 10+2 in Sci-
ence or equivalent
Fee Structure: Total Programme fee is Rs. 10,500 , which
is to be paid @ Rs. 3,500 per Annum.
Programme overview
The 96 credits for the B. Sc. Programme are to be spread
over three categories of Courses as given below:
Foundation Courses : 24 Credits
Elective Courses : 56 to 64 Credits
Application- Oriented Courses ; 8 to 16 Credits
Awareness Course on Environment : Nil
Total : 96 Credits
In case, one do not complete various BSc (Major) degrees
and complete any other combination of courses from
among science elective courses, then you will be awarded
a BSc (General) degree.
Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)
Minimum Duration: 3 Years, Maximum Duration: 6 Years,
Course Fee: Rs. 12,000, Age no bar, Eligibility: 10+2 or its
equivalent or BPP from IGNOU, Medium of Instructions:
English and Hindi

Programme overview
The Bachelor Degree programme is Social Work (BSW) is
meant for candidates who are interested in providing pro-
fessional assistance to people in need. Persons with profes-
sional training/ degree in Social Work generally work in
socially-relevant areas such as health care, community de-
velopment, education, industry, counselling, family, correc-
tion, social defense, women, children, disability etc.
With globalisation, market economy and liberalisation, new
concerns and human problems are emerging which needs
to be addressed. This programme will be particularly use-
ful to people employed at middle and lower levels with
NGOs and social and developmental agencies both in gov-
ernment and private sector.
The BSW programme is available both in English and Hindi
across the country. It will also be useful to fresh candidates
who may like to work in social and social welfare sectors.
The Bachelor's Degree Programme in BSW has three ma-
jor components:
Foundation Courses: 24 Credits
Elective Courses: 48 Credits
Field Work (Practicum): 24 Credits
Total: 96 Credits
Bachelor of Arts (Tourism Studies) (BTS)
Minimum Duration: 3 Years, Maximum Duration: 6 Years,
Course Fee: Rs. 7,500, Age no bar, Eligibility: BPP from
IGNOU or 10+2 or its equivalent, Medium of Instructions:
English and Hindi
Programme overview
The objective of this programme is to provide knowledge,
competence, and skills in the professional area of tourism
at the Bachelor's Degree level. This programme, like other
Bachelor's Degree Programmes can be completed in three
years. Learners will need to complete 96 credits in order
to qualify for the BTS degree. The programme is available
both in English and Hindi.
