Bhupendra  Bhupendra Kainthola takes charge as FTII Director
Kainthola
           Indian Information Service (IIS) officer Bhupendra Kainthola took charge as Director of Film and Television
           Institute of India (FTII). Kainthola replaced Prashant Pathrabe, who had served as interim Director and
           shall have tenure of three years.

           Kainthola is a 1989 batch IIS officer. He holds a Masters in International Relations from the University of
           Mumbai. Prior to this appointment he was serving as Director (News Room) with DD News since
           January 2015

Subroto Bagchi to head Odisha Skill Development Authority

IT major Mindtree co-founder Subroto Bagchi has been appointed as head of the Odisha Skill Development
Authority. He would report directly to the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and has been given the rank
of cabinet minister with a token monthly salary of Re 1.

           Royal Dutch Shell Plc announced that Nitin Prasad will take over from Yasmine Hilton as the Chairman
           of Shell Companies in India from October 1, 2016.

           Prasad is currently Cluster General Manager for Lubricant Sales and Market for India, Sri Lanka and
           Bangladesh.

     Nitin Prasad "An electrical engineer from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA and a management graduate from
                       INSEAD, Prasad took up his current appointment in 2011 as General Manager, Shell Lubricants," the

company said in a statement.

Manipal Health Enterprises appoints Sameer Aggarwal as CFO

Manipal Health Enterprises Pvt Ltd (MHPEL) has appointed Sameer Aggarwal as its new Chief Financial
Officer (CFO).

Aggarwal, who has had stints with Wipro, 3M, Marico and Ingersoll-Rand, will focus on aligning the
business and finance strategy, and would also look at compliance, the company said in a statement.

        2016 may be hottest year for India: NOOA

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOOA) in the US said that 2016 was on course to beat 2015
as the hottest year on record globally, the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) reiterated that for India too it "could be
one of the warmest years of the century".

"In 2015, the annual mean temperature for the country was 0.67 degree Celsius above the 1961-1990 average, thus
making it the third warmest year on record since 1901. However, with the rising mercury levels this year, especially
in the month of March, which is yet to be assessed, it could be one of the warmest years of the century,'' said Rajeevan.

The other nine warmest years on record are 2009, 2010, 2003, 2002, 2014, 1998, 2006 and 2007. NOAA said that for
2016, till date, the global average temperature was 2.07 degrees Fahrenheit above the 20th century average. It
added that this was the highest temperature for the period between 1880 and 2016 surpassing the previous record
set in 2015 by 0.50 degrees Fahrenheit.
