The sum insured varies from Rs 50,000 to Rs. 5,00,000.

The other features of the scheme are:
(i) Policies can be issued for 1 year to 5 years depending

on the option chosen by the insured.
(ii) For group policies the minimum number of persons

should be 51 and only 1 group policy needs to be
issued covering all the eligible group members.
Unnamed policy cannot be issued.
(iii) For long-term group policies, the premium can be
paid in installments, viz 2 in case of 5 yr policy.
(iv) Optional and cover to cover boarding and lodging
expenses in the hospital for one of the family
members or next of kin of the insured who
accompanies the insured during the hospitalisation
period subject to payment of nominal additional
premium.
(v) Hospitalisation and operation expenses are payable
