Dreams do come true: The glitter and the grandeur of
The Ocean Centre- Even Heaven may not be more
dazzling
While returning to flat on 3rd day of our commute from office to our
flat, we passed through Ocean Centre, the largest Mall just near the sea
port where naval and merchant ships had the stop over. It is in fact, three
in one Mall: Ocean Terminal, Ocean centre and Gateway Mall.
This was our first experience to be in a dazzling shopping mall in Hong
Kong. No such malls in India had come yet. We walked up through shops
selling electronic watches, gold and diamond jewelry, artificial jewelry,
branded cosmetics, garments, dresses, dress materials, souvenirs, luxury
goods, fine dining with bars and what not.
The layout of shelves, the lighting, the cleanliness of the place, the
ambience with glitter all over seemed to be so dazzling to us that we
thought that the so often heard mythological 'Heaven' would not be more
dazzling than the Ocean Centre. There was one more attraction attracting
a huge crowd at a branch of world famous restaurant "Planet Hollywood"
owned by some of the Hollywood actors located in Harbour city adjacent
to Ocean Centre.
Insights from the episode
1. First time of anything like being in Hong Kong is a great excitement.
2. My love and respect for the grandeur of the place is still
undiminished in my mind. The blue sky of Hong Kong reminds me
of vastness and positivity.
