with the Chief of the branch and Head of loan department. But none of
the five chiefs I saw in 3.5 years could resolve the issue. This was another
constant source of stress for me apprehending the loss of any important
document or security papers held in my custody officially.
I had registered my request in writing twice to resolve this issue but there
was no solution found. In that sense I considered myself a weak Head of
Department, otherwise I should have raised this issue with our Officers
Association for resolution. But I had to handle so many pressing issues
and thus a few issues still remained unresolved till my departure despite
all my earnest efforts. While returning from my Home Loan disbursing
branch without my original title deeds, I was getting even more panicky
about messy position at my branch fearing what might happen while
handing over charge to get relieved from the bank a few months later.
The relieving day finally came after the three months' notice period
expired. Meanwhile, my vigilance angle clearance from past branches as
per rules was also received by the Vigilance Department of the bank. My
incumbent checked everything and signed a satisfactory charge report. I
thanked God as I got relieved from the bank unscathed and without any
charges against me of any kind.
