CD again and ask them each time they hear a musical
instrument in the classroom to imitate the movement of playing
it. At the moment when instruments that are not in the classroom
are played, the students should sit as still as statues.
Assessment: Informal written assessment of students by the
teacher. The teacher observes the students and records his
observations.
Activity 4
Write the following rhythmic pattern on the board:

Ask students to perform it by clapping, playing
first the first row and then the second. Then divide the students
into two groups and ask them to perform the above rhythmic
pattern simultaneously, with the first group playing the first line
by clapping and the second group playing the second line by
tapping the pencils on the desk.
When the students have accomplished all of the above, once
again divide the students into two groups. Give the first group
percussion instruments (preferably drums and cymbals) and ask
them to make their own percussion band, following the rhythmic
pattern above. Give the students in the first group some time to
