literate as individuals and a society. Overall, this course is to help young people to
develop their media literacy and analytical skills.
The program of ‘The Media Literacy Training Course’ is of significance as it reflects
important issues of safe work with new forms of communication and services of the
digital world: the threats distributed by the Internet and mobile communication
through mass-accessible e-commerce services, social services, network associations
and communities, leisure resources (computer games, video and digital television,
digital media and news services), as well as the widespread integration of remote
resources and technologies into educational activities, using the search for educational
and educational information, communication in social networks, receiving and
transferring files, placing personal information in collective services.
In this regard, at present, it is necessary to pay special attention to educating high
school students in the legal culture of information security, to form in students a
responsible and critical attitude towards information sources, a legal culture in the field
of protection from negative information and illegal actions. Teaching a student to
navigate correctly in a large number of resources on the Internet is an important task
for involvement in the modern digital educational environment, career guidance in the
context of digitalization of professions, distraction from useless content and gambling
addiction, waste of time in social networks and mobile communication services.
One of the main goals of the course is to provide social aspects of information literacy,
to develop information security culture in the digital world, to include elements of
‘digital hygiene’ in the context of education and training, to develop a negative attitude
towards all manifestations of cruelty, violence, violation of individual rights,
extremism in all its forms on the Internet. The course is to provide students with
enhanced knowledge in the field of MIL so as to empower better future citizens. MIL
should be seen as an essential tool to facilitate intercultural dialogue, mutual
understanding and a cultural understanding of people /UNESCO/.
