Lesson Title: Media and Information Literacy Terminology
Learning Objectives:
Understand key terms related to media and information literacy.
Know how to apply these terms in analyzing and evaluating media content.
Demonstrate the ability to critically assess and make informed decisions about media and
information sources.

Lesson Procedure/Steps:
Pre-Class Activity (10 minutes):
Assign students to read a brief article or watch a video on the importance of media and information
literacy.
Ask them to jot down any unfamiliar terms they encounter.
Introduction (5 minutes):
Begin the class by asking students about their understanding of media and information literacy.
Explain the importance of media and information literacy in today's digital age.
Emphasize the need to develop critical thinking skills to navigate through vast amounts of
information.
Terminology Exploration (20 minutes):
Provide a list of key media and information literacy terms on the board or via handout.
Divide students into small groups and assign each group a set of terms.
Instruct students to research and define their assigned terms using reliable sources.
Encourage students to discuss their findings within their groups and clarify any uncertainties.
Flip Classroom Activity (15 minutes):
Ask students to access an online discussion board or collaborative document (e.g., Google Docs) prior
to the next class.
Instruct them to post the definitions of their assigned terms along with examples and explanations.
