MC GRAW
by John Moorehouse
Mc Graw entered black type with relative ease on July 25 at Les Bois Park, winning handily in the $15,950 Les Bois Park Bonus Challenge.
The four-year-old gelding is owned by Robin Dunn, Larry Chapple and RTM Stables LLC. This marked the fourth victory in 12 career starts for Mc Graw. Not only was it his first triumph in stakes company, but his first visit to the winner’s circle since last Sept. 7 at Sandy Downs. It also was the second appearance in a stakes race for Mc Graw, who was making his second start of the 2015 campaign.
The James Hanson trainee was clearly the best
in this event. After a solid break from the 4-gate, Mc Graw led at every remaining call. Jockey Eddie Aceves had the gelding in front by a 1/2-length as he entered the stretch, and they coasted to the wire to win by that same margin. The 400-yard trip took :19.970, produc- ing an 88 speed index as well as a $9,570 payday that increased the lifetime earnings of Mc Graw to $25,524.
Bobby D. Cox bred Mc Graw and owns the gelding’s dam, unraced Sizzling Lola, who has 21 foals including 16 starters. Mc Graw is now the third member of the brood to become a stakes winner, joining 1/2-brother JD Baccarat, who holds two Grade 3 victories; and 1/2-sister Tickle Ur Fancy, who won the Pot O’Gold Futurity earlier this year. Three other Sizzling Lola offspring have black type by virtue of in-the-money finishes in stakes races.
Merwin Carter (Carters Cartel-Sum Special Hum) secured 2nd for Craig Giles Racing LLC. The Monty Arrossa trainee had Robert Burney aboard. Little Grunt (Winners Version-Smart Little Liz) was 3rd for trainer Jay Pitcher, who co-owns him with Robert Gutke. Jockey Jose Figueroa was up. Followed by Stealin Seis (Stoli-Runaway Seis), Runaway Vixen (Ocean Runaway- Western Love TB), Never Tell (TR Dasher-Peggy Secret), James And Company (Inseperable-Runninbac) & Lil Bitts A Dash (Dashair-A Lil Bitts).
Bitterroot Juvenile
KATIES EASY MOVES
by John Moorehouse
Katies Easy Moves didn’t qualify for the Bitterroot Futurity, but he still left Les Bois Park on Independence Day weekend holding black type. The
gelding prevailed in the $15,000 Bitterroot Juvenile on July 4, securing victory in the undercard stakes.
Owned by Walter Finder and O-So Smart LLC, Katies Easy Moves broke his maiden and secured his first win in stakes company in one fell swoop. The two-year-old gelding also produced a $6,000 payday, improving his lifetime bankroll to $6,360.
Jessica Hadley trains Katies Easy Moves, who drew the outside starting position in the 9-horse field. The gelding veered out on the break, but recovered and overtook Lacey Js Little Sis to lead by a neck as they entered the stretch. Katies Easy Moves widened the gap during the final yards, sporting a 1/2-length separation as jockey Jose Figueroa got him to the wire.
The 350-yard trip took :17.559, registering a 95 speed index. That’s a significant improvement over the :17.888 Katies Easy Moves logged in his Bitterroot Futurity trial, which also marked his debut out.
Finder also bred Katies Easy Moves, who becomes the first stakes winner out of his dam, Katie Lane Finder. The mare is lightly-raced herself and has foaled 7 offspring, 6 of whom have made starts.
Lacey Js Little Sis (Carters Cartel-Lacey Jn Me)
was 2nd under Uriel Dominguez for owner/breeder Sam Allie & trainer Riley Moosman. Gary & Jeralyn Messenger’s Fames Sweet Jess (One Sweet Jess-Go For Fame) took 3rd. The Monty Arrossa trainee had Nikeela Black up. Followed by Classy Katrina (Tempting Dash-Deans Dusty Bunny), Dr Stellar (Stel Corona- Follow Her Down), Ferarri Prize Jive (Tac It Like A Man-Ferarri Fast Prize), Sheezza Fighter (Fighter On Fire-Sheza Gator), Expunge (Hiclass La Jolla-Dashing Stardust) & Magic Moments Blues (Carters Cartel-Run The Dash). Dynamites Ls was scratched.

CASCADE DYNAMITE
by Tracy Gantz
Cascade Dynamite has raced throughout the Pacific Northwest, compiling a creditable race record. But, the six-year-old gelding had never won
a stakes until the $17,020 Jack Rhoden Memorial Bonus Challenge at the Crooked River Roundup on July 18.
Conducted at the Prineville Turf Club in Prineville, Oregon, the Crooked River Roundup hosts races and rodeo events. The Jack Rhoden Memorial Bonus Challenge was a quick dash of 250 yards, and Cascade Dynamite lived up to his name.
With rider Ruben Camacho in the irons, Cascade Dynamite broke second from the outside post posi- tion and quickly took the lead. The gelding had a 1/2-length advantage at the top of the stretch and maintained that margin to win as the 9-5 favorite. He stopped the timer in :13.203 for a 106 speed index.
Juan Sanguino trains Cascade Dynamite for owner Ramiro Cancino. The gelding was com-
ing off of three consecutive victories—at Portland Meadows, Sun Downs, and Emerald Downs. Those wins include a neck victory in the Portland Meadows Bonus Challenge on Feb. 8, and a wire-to-wire run in the Sun Downs Bonus Challenge on May 2.
Cascade Dynamite’s race record is now 11 wins, 3 seconds, and 3 thirds from 27 starts.
Wade Siegel, who raced Cascade Dynamite’s sire, Mountains Majesty, bred Cascade Dynamite from the Thoroughbred mare Mary A Millionaire. The mare is by Favorite Trick, the 1997 Horse of the Year who stood to both Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse mares. Cascade Dynamite is the mare’s first winner in two Quarter Horse starters. She has no registered Thoroughbred foals.
L Bar D Snow Princes (This Snow Is Royal- Dash Home Deb) finished second in this year’s Jack Rhoden Memorial Bonus Challenge after run-
ning third in the race last year. Matthew Werner- Hagerty rode her for trainer Jose Sanguino. Gerardo Sanguino owns the nine-year-old mare.
Jose Sanguino also trains third-place Cops R Zoomin (Shazoomin Star-My Fashion Cop), who is owned by Pedro Sanguino. Ashlee Wolf piloted the three-year-old filly, who won the 2014 Pot O’ Gold Futurity at Sun Downs.
Followed by Rogue County (Kipas Special-Royal Stakes Quick), CM Got Overserved (Corona For Me-Mi Fames A Dandy), CNC Dream On (Mr Corona Cash-RA Dream Catcher), Patty Okey (Okey Dokey Dale-Wrangler Chris) & Little Foose Coupe (Foose-Cowgirls Aint Easy).
