Nothin Like You eased his way up in the stretch to win the $35,000 Two Rivers Stakes-G3 at Prairie Meadows on Sept. 29. Under jockey Stormy
Smith, the gelding completed the 400 yards in a time of :19.650. He crossed the wire by 1 1/2-lengths and earned a 101 speed index.
The gelding brought home a winning share of $17,500 for owner Bradbury Racing and trainer John Hammes. Nothin Like You now boasts a bankroll of $407,341, and is a multiple Graded stakes winner, most recently winning the Keokuk Stakes-G3 on July 1.
Nothin Like You is bred by Thomas Bradbury and Lisa Beauprez out of the stakes winning mare Whos Kissin Carter. The gelding is the leading money earner and currently the only stakes winner out of the dam.
Apollitical Payoff (Apollitical Jess-Seis The Royal Cash) and jockey Edwin Escobedo held
first in the beginning but proved no match late, settling for second. The gelding is bred and owned by Brenda Reiswig and trained by Jason Olmstead. He is a multiple Graded stakes placer, most recently placing second in the Dee Raper Sooner State Stakes-G1.
Wieburg (Ivory James-Hollie Jollie) made a steady bid for third under jockey Jorge Torres for breeder/owner/trainer Patrick Swan. Wieburg’s previous stakes performances this season includes a second place finish in the Prairie Dash Stakes and he was a finalist
in the Bank of America Prairie Meadows Championship Challenge-G2.
Completing the field were Early Surprise (Hes Relentless-Easy Downhill), B Zoomin (Stevie B First Cash-Miss Zoomin Lady), Western Reserve (Im A Fancy PYC-Western Fun), and Azola Baban (Lil Kool Wagon-Majestic Jet Black).
A LEGACY OF TALES

From the outside, A Legacy Of Tales rallied gamely to snag the win by a neck in the $113,460 Altoona Derby at Prairie Meadows on Sept. 29. Under jockey
Cristian Esqueda, the race favorite sat in the tail of the field until they made their move coming down the stretch. The bay gelding completed the 400 yards in :19.837 for a 96 speed index.
A Legacy Of Tales is bred and owned by Donald J. Friedan and trained by Stacy Charette-Hill. He pulled in earnings of $51,057, to boost his career bankroll to $247,507. The gelding won the Valley Junction Futurity-G3 last Sept. at Prairie Meadows.
Out of multiple stakes winner Legacys A Streakin, the gelding is the leading money earner of the dam. He is a half-brother to multiple stakes winner Relentless Legacy.
Moving up from the rear, Gigi Tianna
(Jess Louisiana Blue-Gianna Grace) and jockey Jonathan Dominguez crossed the wire in second by a nose. The filly is bred and owned by M.C. and Cendy Stucks and trained by Stacy Charette- Hill. She won Valley Junction Juvenile last Sept. at Prairie Meadows
Curls Patti Wagon (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Eye A Spit Curl Girl) and jockey Jorge Torres briefly led the field in the stretch, but were outfinished and ultimately came in third. The brown colt is bred and owned by Martin Stacy and trained by Stacy Charette-Hill. He won the Prairie Meadows Gold Derby on July 9.
The remaining order of finish was Relentless Summer (Hes Relentless-Summertime Dash), Sassie Savannah (KVN Corona-Waitin On Mindy), Miss KT Perry (PYC Paint Your Wagon-KT Perry), Till Next Time (Capo De Capi-Eyema Blues Girl), Five Bar Signs (Five Bar Cartel-A Tres of Paint), BHR the Bomb Dot Com (One Mean Eagle-BHR Eau So Flashy). Water Or Corona was scratched.
EC WAGON

Ruben Mojica’s homebred EC Wagon notched the second stakes win of his career with a clear-cut victory in the $97,360 Polk County Derby at Prairie
Meadows on Sept. 30.
Ridden by Alfredo Triana Jr., EC Wagon
raced in third position early in the 400-yard test. He surged to the front in the lane and powered home to score by 1 3/4-lengths at the finish.
Trained by Manuel Campos, EC Wagon covered the 400-yard distanced in :19.870, earning a 95 speed index.
The impressive win marked the second stakes score for EC Wagon, who captured the Cyclone Derby at Prairie Meadows in July.
EC Wagon was the fifth fastest qualifier from the Sept. 11 trials. He finished second in his trial heat to second fastest qualifier Lil Racy Blu.
At two, he finished second in the Hawkeye Futurity and was fourth in the Jim Bader Futurity.
With his latest win, EC Wagon improves his record to 11-3-4-0, and the $43,812 share of the winner’s purse increased his bankroll to $108,927.
Kay Sage’s Dashin Davey Crocket (Lil Kook Wagon-Easy Sailin Kiss), the fastest qualifier and conditioned by trainer Alex Wessels, was placed second although he crossed the finish in third under Angel Ramirez.
Racing The Rails (Freighttrain B-One Famous Hawkeye), ridden by Jorge Torres, originally finished second, but was disqualified from second and placed third. Racing The Rails is trained by Tony Jones, who owns the filly in partnership with Rick Neff.
Duke Of Cartel (Carters Cartel-Queen
Of Anywhere), Joda Tempting Jet (Jet Black Patriot-Fabulously Tempting), and Weedy Set Go (Apollitical Spirit-Wagonbelle) completed the order of finish. DC Fusion, Jesstrong Corona, Lil Racy Blu, and Perrysfirstmoonflash were scratched.
