GOING GAGA

Jim R. Harvey’s homebred filly Going Gaga, won the $60,000 Future of Iowa Stakes at Prairie Meadows on Sept. 30.
Going Gaga broke from the No. 11 gate and rallied in the stretch to cross the finish line first
by a nose. Guided by James Flores, the sorrel filly finished the 350 yards in :17.844 and recorded an 89 speed index. The Stacy Charette-Hill trainee now has a record of three firsts, three seconds, and one third from 14 starts and the $27,000 winner’s share has increased her total earnings for $62,748.
Going Gaga is out of lightly raced mare Talk It Upp, who is a half-sister to the multiple stakes winning mare Catchin Fire. Catchin Fire’s stakes resume includes firsts the 2014 and 2015 Future of Iowa Stakes and seconds in the 2012 Jim Bader Futurity and 2013 Polk County Derby.
In second place was Vals Sizzling Lips (Valiant Hero-Miss Jess Lips V), ridden by Andrew Samaniego for owner B/B Wessels, LLC and trainer Alex Wessels. The brown filly was a finalist in the Polk County Derby last year.
Third-place finisher, Kays Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Real Royal Down), lead throughout the stretch under jockey Alfredo Triana, Jr. but was overcome at the finish. Kays Dynasty placed second in both the 2022 and 2021 versions of this race. The eight-year-old is bred and owned by Kay J. Sage and trained by Alex Wessels.
Completing the field were TRS Amazing Gracie (Just Amazing Jess-Determinedly), RCS Wagons Queen (Lil Kool Wagon-Heros Queen), Famous Jeanscarnitas (Fast N Famous Jeans-TRS Justamazing Ava), Candy And Corona (Jess Good Candy-Cartels Belle), TS
Lil Cash (Lil Kool Wagon-TS Theregoesmycash), Rmlilkoolprincess (Lil Kool Wagon-Cornish Bar), Badrapidfastcat (Racy Casanova-Spangled), and SFS Alice Strikes (Apollitical Jess-So Striking). Miss Jessita and TS Eat Dust were both scratched.

Samaniego took over in the stretch to win the $60,000 Terrace Hill Stakes at Prairie Meadows on Sept. 30. The black gelding tore down the fast track to finish the 400 yards in a time of :20.032. He crossed the wire by a neck and earned a 91 speed index.
The gelding secured a winner’s share of $28,800 for breeder and owner Humberto Rivera and trainer Stacy Belt. He now showcases a bankroll of $117,461. Lil Pete El Soruyo’s previous stakes performances this year include seconds in the Keokuk Stakes-G3, the Cy-Hawk Stakes, and the Golden Driller Stakes.
Lil Pete El Soruyo is the first stakes winner and leading money earner out of Pistolpaknprincess, who has produced two winners from four starters.
Under jockey Stormy Smith, TS Perry Kool (Lil Kool Wagon-Mrs Aqua Perry) dueled and proved second best. The gelding finished in second by 1 3/4-lengths. He is owned by Casey Veach and trained by Tony Jones. TS Perry Kool won the Cy-Hawk Stakes on August 5.
Kornfusion (Lil Kool Wagon-Alina Alina) and jockey Alfredo Triana Jr. started strong then weakened late to finish third. The gelding is owned and trained by Manuel Mojica Campos.
The remaining order of finish was Gracies Tuition (Lil Kool Wagon-Majestic Jet Black), Famous Coronado (Coronado Cartel-One Famous Hawkeye), Miss Jessita (Apollitical Jess-Fast Prize Tacita), and Jess Lippy (Jess Lips-Dashing On The Moon). Jesstrong Corona was scratched.

avored to win, Jess A Rednec Cowboy had to dig
in to take the lead in the $22,500 Valley Junction Juvenile at Prairie Meadows on Sept. 29. Jess A Rednec Cowboy and jockey Ramiro Garcia kicked clear coming out of the stretch to finish first with a 1-length advantage. The sorrel gelding completed the 350 yards over a fast track in a time of :17:574 for a 96 speed index.
Bred and owned by Brenda Reiswig and trained by Jason Olmstead, the gelding brought home $7,200, raising his career earnings to $97,606. He became a Graded stakes winner early in his racing career, winning the Grade 3 Easy Jet Stakes at Remington Park on May 27.
Bred in Oklahoma, Jess A Rednec Cowboy is the first stakes winner and leading money earner out of Valiant Red Vixen. He is a half-brother to multiple stakes placed gelding Dominate This.
Taking early command of the field, One Fabulous Dynasty(One Fabulous Eagle-Diva Dynasty) and jockey Alfredo Triana Jr. were outfinished coming out of the stretch. The colt
is owned by Deanna Anderson and Casey Foster and trained by Robert Johnson. He won the BHS Futurity at Miles City on May 21.
With a good finish, Relentless Fantsy (Hes Relentless-Fantsy Pants) and jockey Edwin Escobedo worked their way up the field to finish in third. The filly is owned by History Farms LLC and trained by Jason Olmstead.
Completing the field were Presido Pete (The Marfa Lights-Tahiti Wave), Lazles Lights (The Marfa Lights-Little Lazajane), BHR Flashing Nickers (One Mean Eagle-BHR Guys Flash Me), SFS Emma
