Our look at Easy Jet begins with his full brother Jet Smooth, a stakes winner from the 1965 crop of Jet Deck. He was the winner
of the 1967 Kansas Futurity, the 1968 All American Congress Derby and the 1969 World’s Championship Classic. He was stakes placed with thirds in the 1968 New Mexico State Fair Handicap, 1969 Three Bars Handicap and 1969 C. L. Maddon’s Bright Eyes Handicap. He set a New Track Record at Beulah Park for 400 yards in :20.400 in the All American Congress Derby.
By the time Jet Smooth was showing his potential as a racehorse, Easy Jet was born
in 1967 by Jet Deck. Easy Jet went to the racetrack in 1969 to set the world on fire, racing a phenomenal 26 times as a two year old, winning 22 with three seconds and
one unplaced finish. This is an average of a race every two weeks. He raced in five states
- Oklahoma, Colorado, Ohio, Texas and New Mexico. He won nine stakes races. He officially won his first stakes race on January 12, 1969, with a win in the Blue Ribbon Futurity and ended the year with a win in the Sunland Park Fall Futurity on November 30, 1969. In between, he won the All American
 Futurity, Kansas Futurity, Rocky Mountain Futurity, Columbus Triple Crown Futurity, Lubbock Downs Futurity, Laddie Stakes
and the All American Congress Futurity. He was second in three more races, the Texas Futurity, Oklahoma Futurity and Raton Futurity. He won $409,155 as a two year old. He was named the 1969 World Champion, Champion Stallion and Champion Two- Year-Old Colt.
Easy Jet returned to the track after the 1970 breeding season. He raced 12 more times, winning five with four seconds and two thirds to win $36,565. He won the Raton Derby, Rocky Mountain Derby
and Colorado Wonderland Stakes. He was second in the Sunland Park Fall Derby and third in the World’s Championship Quarter Horse Classic. Easy Jet was named the 1970 Champion Stallion and the Champion Three-Year-Old Colt.
Easy Jet became the All-Time Leading Sire of Money Earners, race winners and racing ROM earners. He is still 17 on the Leading Sire of Money Earner’s list 31 years after his death in 1992. He sired 2,507 foals with 2,019 starters, 1,563 ROM, 145 stakes winners, 243 stakes wins, and 168 stakes placed runners placing in
 458 stakes races. His foals earned $26,237,832. His leading money earner was Mr Trucka Jet, one of his All American Futurity winners. His other All American Futurity winners were Easy Date and Pie In The Sky, both Champions.
He sired seven more Champions. They include Megahertz, My Easy Credit, Easy Move, Easy Angel, Extra Easy, Easily Smashed and Shoot Yeah. His Champions won 13 Championships.
The daughters of Easy Jet produced 6,857 foals, 4,300 starters, 2,928 racing ROM, 223 stakes winners and 429 stakes wins. These runners earned $51,699,403. The leading money earner in this category was the All American Futurity winner Eastex. He was one of eight Champions that earned 12 championships that were out of Easy Jet’s daughters. These Champions include Rise
N High, Easygo Effort, Takin On The Cash, Four Forty Blast, Fabulous Form, Dashing Perfection and Go Larkingly.
