COUNTRY BOY 123

Country Boy 123 is both consistent and durable. In taking his latest stakes at Ajax Downs, the $17,352 QROOI Sprint Series #2
Stakes, the 7-year-old was winning his 25th race in 39 starts. He has won or finished second in 33 of those 39 races.
No stranger to Ajax Downs, where he has spent much of his career, Country Boy 123 went off as the 1-2 favorite under jockey Ed Walton. He got away quickly and on top from the outside post posi- tion and motored the 220 yards in :11.889 to win wire-to-wire by 3/4-length.
Ruth Barbour owns and trains Country Boy 123, who has now won 12 stakes during his career. All have come at Ajax except for back-to-back editions
of the Bradford Stakes at Indiana Grand in 2019-20. Carolyn Bay bred the gelding in Michigan from her homebred Very Dashin 123. The mare won the 2008 Texas Distaff Challenge-G3 and has produced four starters, all winners.
Helen Vanek rode Carneros (Prospect To
The Top-Cakebread And Thou) to second for owner Milena Kwiecien and trainer Jason Pascoe. Carneros was coming off a victory in the QROOI Sprint Series #1 Stakes.
Arctic Fame (Dash To The Arctic-Magic Ta Fame) finished third under jockey Brian Bell. Scott Reid trains the 9-year-old gelding for owner George Coleman. Arctic Fame finished third in the 2014 Ontario Sires Stakes Derby.

Princess Derby
ONE KOOL DYNASTY

One Kool Dynasty notched her first stakes victory in the $40,953 Princess Derby at Ajax Downs on Aug. 5.
Ridden by Helen Vanek, the bay filly broke from the 8-post in sixth and quickly grabbed second. With Virtuosi in the lead midway through the sprint, One Kool Dynasty made a strong finish to overcome the leader to cross the wire 1/2-length in front.
The filly ran second in her July 22 trial heat and came into the finals with the sixth fastest time.
One Kool Dynasty completed the 350 yards in :17.982 to earn an 87 speed index. She also earned first place money worth $16,382 for owner Belinda Taggart and trainer Jason Pascoe, which brings her total lifetime earnings to $31,331. Her race record now stands 7-2(1)-2-1.
William Taggart bred One Kool Dynasty out
of multiple stakes winners and New Track Record setter One Kool Bud. The mare has produced 100% money earners from six starters, including Champion and top earner One Kool Wave. One Kool Dynasty becomes her third stakes winner.
Virtuosi (Favorite Cartel-Tsunami 09) came in with the fastest qualifying time and banked second place money for owner Big Dog Racing Stables. The Carol McIntyre trainee had Regan Knowles in the irons.
Whiteside (Hes Relentless-Itea) was third under Ed Walton for owner Richard Wincikaby and trainer Michelly Woodley.
Tempting First Dash (Shining First Dash-A Tempting Chick), CC Senator Page (Louisiana Senator-Cassandra Chick), Pretty Runaway (Winners Award-Pretty Jane Perry), Shez Perry Fiesty (Sugarman Perry-Chissled and Fiesty), Eye Require Corona (Carters Cartel-Eyes Required) and Spitfire Stoli (Stoli-Veva Six) completed the order of finish. Silken Siri was scratched.
Ontario Stallion Stakes Maturity
SHAKE IT TWICE

Shake It Twice secured her second stakes victory in the $30,558 Ontario Stallion Stakes Maturity at Ajax Downs on Aug. 5.
Ridden by Cassandra Jeschke, Shake It Twice stepped away from the 1-post on the lead and never looked back, crossing the wire a nose in front.
The sorrel filly completed the 330 yards in :17.007 to earn a 91 speed index.
Bred, owned and trained by Chantelle Bourgeois, Shake It Twice brought home the $12,223 winner’s share of the purse, boosting her total lifetime earnings to $66,595.
Her race record now stands 12-6(2)-3(1)-1(1). Jeschke has won three out of the five times she rode the filly, including the last two in a row.
Bourgeois bred Shake It Twice out of winner Shake Pretty Baby. She has produced 100% winners from two starters, including Shaken, who ran third in the 2019 Ontario Sires Stakes Futurity. Shake It Twice is the first stakes winner of the brood.
Ittakestwotootango (Mr Jess Tex-Mighty Oak Streakin) and jockey Ismael Mosqueira ran a gritty race to bank second place money for owner Big Dog Racing Stable and trainer Carol McIntyre. The geld- ing has won six races from 27 starts.
Fiesty Icon (Sugarman Perry-Fiesty Spirit) was third under Ed Walton for owner/trainer Richard Kennedy. The gelding has won three stakes races, including last year’s Ontario Sires Stakes.
