RACING NEWS
Power Fade’s connections include owners J. Lloyd Yother and J. Garvan Kelly, trainer Dee Keener and jockey Daniel Torres.
Power Fade comes by her talent naturally, being sired by Painted Turnpike, the only Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown winner. Her sire won an impressive 26 wins from 29 starts, including 19 stakes in a stellar racing career. His first-crop daughter Power Fade is doing her part to bolster his freshman season as a sire.
Keener also sent out runner-up Captain Capi (Capo de Capi-Rosy Dial), who dueled throughout and just missed under jockey Rolando Raudales. Racing for owner/breeder Lloyd Garrison, Captain Capi is a three-time winner and notched his biggest victory in the $183,950 Oklahoma Paint and Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Remington Park March 21.
Mammy Jammer (CRM Livewire-Dashin DD) finished just a nose behind the runner- up in the dramatic blanket finish. Jockey Cody Wainscott partnered the gray filly who is owned by Roy Kent Perkins and trained by Ray Enlow. Mammy Jammer finished third in her trial heat and won a narrow decision over an allowance field two starts back.
WF Turnpike Candy (Painted Turnpike-SW Eye Candy) finished in fourth, followed by JS Shezaquickchick (SF Royal Quick Flash-Cartel Chicken), This Wire is Hot (CRM Livewire-Princess Friona), and CL Barbed Wire (CRM Livewire-Savonas Beauty). Sparkling Moondust, Tales U Lose, and Wired for Royalty were scratched.
Power Fade and jockey Daniel Torres return after their victory.
