RELENTLESS SEIS
by Tracy Gantz
Tom Maher co-owned two of the stakes winners at Canterbury Park on July 7. In addition to winning the Canterbury Park Distaff Challenge Stakes with Lynnder 16, owned by Maher and Richard Tobin, he won the $67,335 MQHRA Stallion Auction Futurity with Relentless Seis, owned by Maher and his brother Bill.
Breaking fourth under jockey Denny Velazquez, Relentless Seis stormed forward to engage three others in the field. Pushed by longshot Bad Monkey, Relentless Seis edged that rival by a head in :17.385 for 350 yards, posting a 106 speed index.
Jason Olmstead trains Relentless Seis, who ran fourth in a maiden race at Remington Park and second in his June 16 MQHRA Stallion Auction Futurity trial. The Mahers bred Relentless Seis with Tom Scheckel out of winner Tritoon. Relentless Seis is the mare’s first foal, starter, and winner. Relentless Seis’ second dam, Lotta Love For Robyn, ran second in the 2013 Cypress Handicap, third in the 2011 Rainbow Juvenile Invitational Stakes, and fourth in the 2011 All American Futurity-G1.
Bad Monkey (Capo De Capi-Girls Eye Too), bred, owned, and trained by Dean Frey, finished second under jockey Cody Smith. Bad Monkey had debuted in his trial, finishing fifth.
Jess One Lane (One Sweet Jess-Girl In The Lane-TB), the fastest qualifier and the even-money favorite, finished third. Jorge Torres rode Jess One Lane for trainer Vic Hanson and owner Spencer Cordes.
One Kool Dreamer (Hes Relentless-One Kool Wagon), Eyesa Timber (First Timber-Eyesa Perry), Easter Eve Bug (Paint Me Perry-Dip Down Dash), Girl Like You (Hes Relentless-Turquoise), Hasta Be A Moose (Hasta Be Fast-Toast To Gypsy), Flinging Paint (Paint Me Perry-Chicks Timeto Fling) and Corona White Socks (Corona Caliente-Holy White Socks TB) completed the order of finish.

ZOOMN ON BYE
by Tracy Gantz
Since breaking his maiden last September in the Alberta Bred Futurity-RG3 at Century Downs, Zoomn On Bye has won two stakes at Turf Paradise and captured the $45,075 Gopher State Derby at Canterbury Park on July 7.
Zoomn On Bye broke a hair slowly from the
rail. With Marcus Swiontek aboard, he quickly put himself into contention and held off challengers to score by a neck in :20.100 for 400 yards, posting a 92 speed index.
Cory Rumsey trains Zoomn On Bye for owner B. Thomas Pick. Zoomn On Bye over the winter won the 2019 AQRA Turf Paradise Open Futurity and the 2020 AQRA Graduation Stakes.
Shady Lane Stables bred Zoomn On Bye out of stakes-placed Eyesa Chickin It Out. The mare has produced five winners from six starters, including stakes-placed Eyesa Zoomn.
Brenda Reiswig’s homebred Little Bit Of Hero (Valiant Hero-Hanna B Jazzin) finished second under jockey Denny Velazquez for trainer Jason Olmstead. The gelding broke his maiden last year at Canterbury.
Eye Am Queen (Apollitical Jess-Eye For Corona), ridden by Cristian Esqueda, and Tipsy Girl B (Hes Relentless-Devil Wears Prada B), ridden by Berkley Packer, dead-heated for third. Clint Crawford trains Eye Am Queen for Cavenaugh Quarter Horses LLC, and Olmstead trains stakes winner Tipsy Girl B for Tom Maher and Paul Luedemann.
Jesta Wave (Apollitical Jess-Wave Bac) and Divas First Moon (First Moonflash-Shake Em Diva) ran fifth and sixth. Takinthecartelscash (Takin On The Cash-A Teller Cartel Girl) finished seventh but was disqualified to 10th for interference. That moved Oilfired Up (Tempting Dash-Hiclass Excitement) into seventh, Sweet Wild Time (One Sweet Jess- Royal Wild Time) into eighth, and AJ Quick Chick (Apollitical Jess-Hiclass Quick) into ninth.
ARC CBY Distaff Challenge
LYNNDER 16
by Tracy Gantz
Owner Tom Maher did well in the $34,315 Canterbury Park Distaff Challenge on July 7. Lynnder 16, owned by Maher and Richard Tobin,
won, while Apollitical Mogul, owned solely by Maher, finished third.
Lynnder 16 was the even-money favorite under jockey Berkley Packer in the 400-yard Canterbury Distaff Challenge. The 4-year-old filly broke on top, scooted out to a 1/2-length advantage, and held off her challengers to score by a neck in :19.753.
Jason Olmstead, Canterbury’s leading condi- tioner, trains Lynnder 16, who also won the 2018 Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity-RG2 and the 2019 Paragon Oaks.
Jim and Marilyn Helzer bred Lynnder 16 out
of 2018 Speedhorse Broodmare of the Year Tinys Corona Queen. The mare has produced 14 winners from 16 starters, including stakes winners Apollitical Man, Hardtoget, Rattle N Battle, First Of 15, and Reacher 16. Maher and his brother, Bill, raced Eagles Span, a half-brother to Tinys Corona Queen and winner of the 2015 Mystic Lake Northlands Futurity, 2015 North Central QHRA Futurity, and 2016 Gopher State Derby, all at Canterbury.
Cristian Esqueda rode Fosse (Foose-Check N Fetch) to second for trainer R. Allen Hybsha and owner Mitch Milliron. Fosse previously ran second in the 2019 Prairie Meadows Distaff Challenge Stakes-G3 and Skip Zimmerman Memorial Stakes.
Olmstead also trains third-place Apollitical Mogul (Apollitical Jess-Cash Cartel) for Maher, and Cody Smith rode the four-year-old filly. Apollitical Mogul won the 2019 Prairie Meadows Derby Challenge Stakes.
DRT Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-One Quick Jess) finished fourth, followed by Rock Solid Babe AW (Rock Solid Jess-MCM Accent On Dash). Curls Happy Wagon was scratched.
