RIG TIME
Rig Time, a homebred 5-year-old son of Right Rigger campaigned by brothers Larry Teague and T. Harry Teague of Hobbs, New Mexico, won the $50,000 Sierra Blanca Handicap-R at Ruidoso Downs on July 26.
Ridden by Isaias Enriquez and racing on
a sealed track officially labeled “good,” Rig Time covered 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:02, and his margin of victory was 3 1/2-lengths from Wheredoesthecashgo. Weston Martin prepped the gray or roan gelding.
Rig Time was making his first start since Feb. 23, when he ran second, 3 1/4 lengths behind winner Blazing Navarone, in the 1 1/16- mile, $100,000 Albert & Henry Dominguez Memorial Handicap-R at Sunland Park. The gelding is one of four black-type stakes winners from 14 starters by Right Rigger.
Right Rigger has sired the earners of more than $1.3 million from seven crops, includ- ing stakes winners Ten Penny Cents and Tea Light. The stallion is owned by Susan A. Hunter and stands at HunterCreek Farms at Roswell, New Mexico.
Rig Time is also one of three winners from four starters produced by Stardust Lady, a home- bred winning daughter of the Gulch stallion Dry Gulch. Stardust Lady foaled Dust Alert, a full sister to Rig Time who won the 2015 Rio Grande Señorita Futurity-R at Ruidoso Downs.
Rig Time’s third dam, the winning Kentucky-bred Seeking The Gold mare Seeing The Circle, ran second in the ‘93 Tempted Stakes-G3 at Aqueduct. His fourth dam, the multiple stakes winning Run Dusty Run mare Dusty Gloves, produced stakes winners Fin Entertainment and Middleweight, both of whom were half brothers to Seeking The Circle.
The $30,000 winner’s share of the Sierra Blanca Handicap purse increased Rig Time’s earnings to $347,154. The gelding has won eight of 22 starts, including three stakes.
Del Mar Summer finished third and was followed by My Indian Warrior, E J’s Gold, Mr. Mooch, Pulpits Fox, No Pasa Nada, Rebounder, and D E Lover.
Runner-up Wheredoesthecashgo banked $10,000 for his owners, Amanda Sweeten and
Pablo Navarez Hernandez. The winner of the 2017 Rio Grande Señor Futurity-R, the 5-year- old chestnut Southwestern Heat gelding has won four of 26 outs and has banked $177,355.
Del Mar Summer has won three of 12 starts for his owners, J. Kirk and Judy Robison of
El Paso, Texas. The 5-year-old gelded son of Southwestern Heat has earned $103,136, and his resume includes a second-place finish in
the 2017 Four Rivers John Deere Stakes-R at Sunland Park.
LLC. A $15,000 claim at Albuquerque Downs on July 12, 2019, Mister Kowen has won five of 22 races, including a 6-furlong sprint for $7,500 claimers at Ruidoso Downs on June 20, and he has banked $110,035.
Sea Emperor, a homebred 5-year-old
son of the Empire Maker stallion Roman Emperor, races for Dr. Miguel Gallegos’ Gallegos del Norte Racing of Albuquerque. The gelding has won seven of 20 outs and has earned $107,816.

Next Affair overcame a stumble at the break to win the July 26, $50,000 Land of Enchantment Handicap-R at Ruidoso Downs.
Ridden by Luis Fuentes, Next Affair cov- ered 7 1/2 furlongs in 1:33.44, and his margin of victory was a clear 4 1/2-lengths from Mister Kowen. Joel Marr trains for owners Chase Carter and Levi James.
Next Affair was bred by Cleber J. Massey. The chestnut gelding is one of 123 win-
ners from 149 starters sired by Diabolical. Campaigned in four countries from 2005- 09, Diabolical earned $1,404,772 from 31 starts, and his five stakes wins included the 2007 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap-G2 at Saratoga and Maryland Breeders’ Cup Sprint Handicap-G3 at Pimlico.
Diabolical has sired 12 black-type stakes winners and the earners of more than $9.09 mil- lion from eight crops, including multiple stakes winners Diabolical Dame, Fast Gator, and Liberty Lover. The stallion is owned by Fred Alexander and J. Kirk Robison at Fred and Linda Alexander’s A & A Ranch at Anthony, New Mexico.
Next Affair is one of four winners from five starters foaled by Burning Affair, a winning daughter of the Storm Cat stallion Twin Spires who ran third in the 2004 Black Swan Stakes at Fairplex Park in Pomona, California. The gelding’s third dam, Prospect South, was a winning Florida-bred daughter of Dixieland Band who ran third in the ‘91 Audubon Oaks at Ellis Park in Henderson, Kentucky.
Next Affair traces back to his fourth dam, Demiano, an unraced daughter of Fappiano and a half sister to stakes winner Pavarotti. Raced exclusively in New Mexico, the gelding has won three of 13 outs, and the $30,000 winner’s share of the purse from his first stakes score pushed his earn- ings to $93,740.
Sea Emperor finished third, a neck behind runner-up Mister Kowen. Ancient Land, Charlie Comanch, and Streaks Bro completed the order of finish.
