                                Old South Futurity
SIZZLIN STEWART
by Michael Compton
Sizzlin Stewart justified his favoritism in the $88,935 Old South Futurity at Delta Downs on May 14, leading the 330-yard event from start to finish.
The gray gelding surprised bettors in his April 23 trial heat, leading at every call and crossing the wire a clear winner by 3/4-lengths at 16-1. Based on the strength of that career debut and the fact he wound up being the fastest qualifier for the main event, Sizzlin Steward went to the post in the Old South Futurity as the 3-2 wagering choice.
Ridden by regular rider Gilbert Ortiz, Sizzlin Stewart jump to the lead at the start and quickly spurted clear by 1-length. He maintained his advantage to the finish, defeating the runner-up by 3/4-length. Sizzlin Stewart stopped the timer in :17.007, earning a speed index of 83.
Kenneth Roberts Sr. saddled the winner for owner P and D Racing. Sizzlin Stewart is now per- fect in two lifetime starts and has earned $48,668. Bred in Texas by Stewart Horses Ltd., Sizzlin Stewart is the first stakes winner for the winning mare Stone Ginger, dam of 100% money earners from 3 starters.
Tres Seis Sign (Tres Seis-Sign Anna First) drifted in and was 2nd best. Jose Rodriguez had
the call on the brown colt for owner Armando
Luis Moya and trainer Erasmo Hernandez. Trial winner Champagne Prospect (Prospect to the Top-Jesschampagnewoman) flashed speed early
but continued to the finish gamely to finish 3rd under Raul Ramirez Jr. John Stinebaugh saddled the filly for owner Bowen Arrow Farms. Followed by Cartelita (The Louisiana Cartel-Queen of Los Olmos), Strawflyin Tac (Tac It Like a Man-Buds N Blossoms), Mr Dash Jess (Rock Solid Jess-Angels Quick Dash), Bed O Quicker (Bedouin Cartel-Miss Hasanattitude), Volcomtini (Volcom-Shez a Cartel), and Bettin On a Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Better Tobe Separate) . SR INSEPERABLE
by Michael Compton
In her initial attempt into stakes company, Jorge Aguilera’s SR Inseperable charged between horses late in the lane to capture the $71,075 Old South
Derby at Delta Downs on May 13.
With jockey Damian Martinez riding for trainer
Adrian Huitron, SR Inseperable dueled early and then sprinted home strongly to reach the wire just ahead of a fast closing Paint Me A Storm to prevail by a neck at the finish.
SR Inseperable, who won her heat and was the second-fastest qualifier from the April 22 trials, stopped the timer for 350 yards in :17.614 and earned a speed index of 88 in the Old South Derby finals.
The three-year-old filly improved her record 6-2-1-0 and increased her bankroll to $41,854 in notching the initial stakes win of her career.
Bred in Oklahoma by Andrew T. Smith, SR Inseperable is out of SR Shesa Dean. Winless in three lifetime starts, the mare has produced one other runner, SR Washita Man, who has a pair of third-place finishes to his credit.
Paint Me A Storm (Red Storm Cat-Paint Me Golden), with John Hamilton in the irons, finished second for Winners Racing & trainer Kenneth Weeks.

by Michael Cusortelli
Telarosa, racing for Douglas Traylor of Katy, Texas, made her season debut with a 3/4-length victory in the $50,000 Vinton Stakes for Louisiana-bred sophomores at Delta Downs on May 14. Covering 400 yards in :19.783, Telarosa recorded a 92 speed index and her second stakes win. Lucas Constantin rode the filly for trainer Kenneth Roberts, Sr.
