Rainbow Oaks
MISS BETH DUTTON
by Tracy Gantz
Ask Conda Maze how Rainbow Oaks winner Miss Beth Dutton got her name, and you’ll get a chuckle and an immediate deference to his wife Judy.
The two own the talented filly, a daughter of Kiss My Hocks, the successful stallion the Mazes have owned an interest in beginning with his racing days.
“I’m a big ‘Yellowstone’ fan, and I’ve always wanted to name a horse Beth Dutton,” explained Judy.
The television show “Yellowstone” is a contemporary Western starring Kevin Costner. The show is a huge hit, especially with horse people because of its authentic equine scenes. The reiners—both equine and human—are top-notch, and most, if not all, of the horses in the series are Quarter Horses.
The character Beth Dutton, played by Kelly Reilley, is the daughter of Costner’s character. Beth Dutton is a tough banker and businesswoman.
