                 One Fine V’s winning connections include owners Jose Maria Garza and Mario Vazquez, trainer Josue Ponce and jockey Victor Urieta Jr.
The $152,933 winner’s share of the Firecracker Futurity purse was One Fine V’s largest to date and swelled the winner’s coffers to $298,210.
In addition to her stakes score, One Fine V finished third in the $1.1 million Heritage Place Futurity-G1 on May 28 at Remington Park. She won her trial in that race by a 1/2-length and was the ninth-fastest qualifier overall to the Grade 1 event.
One Fine V won her June 17 Firecracker Futurity trial by 3 1/2-lengths and topped the qualifying ladder.
In One Fine V’s first start, she won her trial to the Grade 3 Louisiana Downs Futurity on March 13 for the fastest qualifying time, but was later disqualified from that race.
Bred in Oklahoma by Sammy Valeriano, One Five V is produced from the winning Corona
Cartel mare Sera Fina. The mare won one of nine starts, breaking her maiden at Lone Star Park.
One Fine V was a $17,500 graduate of the 2021 Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale.
One Fine V’s stablemate JL Apollitical Miss (Apollitical Blood-Special Sultry Miss) finished second under jockey Jose Herbert. Ponce saddled the runner-up for owner Josefina Guzman. The filly won her trial to the Firecracker wire-to-wire and was the third fastest qualifier. JL Apollitical Miss also won her first out in the May 5 trials
to the Lassie Futurity by 1/2-length, but did not qualify to that event.
Pappacito (Ivory James-Apollitical Pac) and jockey Gilbert Ortiz held third for owner Robin Redding and trainer M. Heath Taylor. Pappacito entered the Firecracker Futurity off a pair of wins. The gray gelding won his trial for the
Firecracker Futurity in wire-to-wire fashion by 2 3/4-lengths for the second fastest qualfiying position. Pappacito also scored in a trial for the Sam Houston Futurity-G2 in his career debut, also going wire-to-wire. Bobby D. Cox bred the youngster in Texas and the precocious juvenile was a $30,000 acquisition for Redding at the Heritage Place September Yearling Sale.
Chimera (A Revenant-Brookside) finished in fourth place and OJD Shez Gon Rogue (Heza Fast Rogue-Bugs Wagon), Big Daddys Blue Eyes (Inseperable-Lyza Blue), followed. Moonflash Winners (First Moonflash-Winners Check)
and Hi Tempt GI (Highest Fire-Seis To Temp) finished in a dead heat for seventh. Cielo Crystal (Moonin the Eagle-Walk Thru Crystal), and Fancy One (PYC Fun N Fancy-One Fantastic Gal) completed the order of finish.
