Teller Ima Eagle, winner of the Oklahoma Juvenile Stakes at Remington Park in March, has flashed his precocity from the very start. The talented son of This Is An Eagle is delivering on the promise he showed earlier this season, and the sorrel gelding notched
the second stakes victory of his young career with an impressive wire-to-wire score in the $175,129 Speedhorse Futurity-G3 at Fair Meadows on July 23.
Ridden by James Flores, Teller Ima Eagle, the second-fastest qualifier, grabbed the lead leaving the starting gate for the 350-yard fixture. He dueled early with Flyght Song and jockey Agustin Silva, but determinedly fought off the challenge through the lane to post a wire-to-wire 1/2-length victory. Sent off as the second-wagering choice, Teller Ima Eagle covered the distance in :17.778 and earned a speed index of 94 in the strong performance.
