Like You in the finals of the $102,925 Prairie Meadows Gold Derby on July 10.
Ridden by Stormy Smith for trainer John Hammes, Nothin Like You broke on top, but slipped into third. Making a late charge, he was able to grab the lead and win by 3/4-length. They completed the 350 yards in :17.881, while posting an 87 speed index.
In addition to the Prairie Meadows Gold Derby, Nothin Like You also won the Valley Junction Futurity-G3 last year and was third in the Prairie Meadows Juvenile Challenge.
Owned by Bradbury Racing, he now has five wins from 10 starts with earnings of $165,559, $46,316 of which came from his latest victory.
Thomas Bradbury and Lisa Beauprez bred Nothin Like You out of Rocky Mountain Futurity winner Whos Kissin Carter, who was also third in the Lucille Rowe Derby. Whos Kissin Carter has produced two winners from six starters. Nothin Like You is her first stakes winner.
Early Surprise (Hes Relentless-Easy Downhill) and jockey Erik Esqueda finished second for owners Gail and Michael Ahern and trainer Stacy Charette-Hill.
Fastest qualifier Im A Fancee Chik (Im A Fancy PYC-Dixie Marrone TB) was third under James Flores for owners Dennis and Danny Salisbury and trainer Clinton Crawford.
Iza Good Guy (Jess Good Candy-Iza Doll Face), Jess Give Mea Reason (Good Reason Sa-Send Me This Wagon), Takin Jacque (Docs Best Card-
Takin On Smashingly), NSM Parks Candy Girl (Jess Good Candy-Corona With Ice), Stylish Flash (First Moonflash-Stylish Jess BR), Curls Ivory Princess (Ivory James-Eye A Spit Curl Girl) and Letyourliteshineonus (PYC Paint Your Wagon-My Girl Jessie) completed the order of finish.

the $74,320 Hawkeye Futurity at Prairie Meadows on July 9.
James Leeper owns the two-year-old gelding, who was making his second career start and debut in stakes company. Dashin Davey Crocket made his first start in the fututity trials, covering the 330 yards in :17.188 and finishing second to Racing The Rails. His time stood as the second-quickest qualifying time.
A Manuel Campos trainee, Dashin Davey Crocket proved to be the fastest in the field for the stakes final.
After a solid break from the 5-post, the young gelding ran a close second at the first call, then moved into first by a head going into the stretch. Urged on by rider Jose Beltran, Dashin Davey Crocket widened the gap during the final yards, winning the race by 3/4-lengths.
Dashin Davey Crocket finished the Hawkeye Futurity in :16.900, surpassing his time in the trials, and registered a 91 speed index. The win produced a $33,444 payday, improving the gray gelding’s total bankroll to $35,604 through just two starts.
David Spieker bred Dashin Davey Crocket out of Easy Sailin Kiss, a 2003 mare who won the 2006 running of the Iowa Gold Derby-G3.
Campos also trains runner-up EC Wagon (EC Jet One-Boogie Wagon), who is bred and owned by Ruben Mojica and who had Jonathan Dominguez in the irons. Tuffazznailz (Coronado Cartel-Tripled Effort) led early and finished in third for owners Richard and Curt Tobin. The Jason Olmstead trainee was ridden
by Edwin Escobedo. Rounding out the order of finish, Sweet Melissa (Corona Cartel-Zocca) was fourth, followed by Racing The Rails (Freighttrain B-One Famous Hawkeye), On The Flyy (Conn Creek-Talk
It Upp), DC Fusion (First Down Dash-BP Tres Seis Policy), TS I Need A Corona (Tres Seis-Corona Springs), TS Another Aquaflash (Tres Seis-Aqua Flash), and Weedy Set Go (Apollitical Spirit-Wagonbelle).

FS Alice Strikes rallied late to snatch her second
career stakes victory, taking the $62,230 Cyclone Derby on July 9 as part of the Iowa Derby Day card at Prairie Meadows.
Breaking from the 10-post, SFS Alice Strikes was out in second but slipped to third at the first call and was fourth going into the stretch. The filly closed well underneath Cristian Esqueda, making her way into the lead in the final yards and hitting the wire first by a head.
Stacy Charette-Hill trains SFS Alice Strikes, who finished her 350-yard trip in :17.655, posting a 94 speed index. The filly came into the derby as the sixth-fastest qualifier, finishing her trial in :17.628.
Racing exclusively at Prairie Meadows in her home state, SFS Alice Strikes now has two wins in eight lifetime starts – with both victories coming
in stakes company. The three-year-old filly also
won last year’s running of the Jim Bader Futurity. Sunflower Stables LLC home-bred SFS Alice Strikes, who pushed her total bankroll into six figures at $118,250 with this $28,003 payday.
TS Perry Kool (Lil Kool Wagon-Mrs Aqua Perry), who entered the race as a 29-1 longshot, finished a close second under jockey Daniel Torres for owner Casey Veach and trainer Tony Jones. Rakin In Mo (Lil Kool Wagon-Bullota Blue), the post-time favorite at less than 3-2 odds, finished 1-length clear in third place. Lisa Baumeister owns the filly. The Wayne Garner trainee had Erik Esqueda in the irons.
Ceeloo (Lil Kool Wagon-Talkin Dirty), TS Jess Watch Me Fly (Apollitical Jess-Agent Carter), Famous Coronado (Coronado Cartel-One Famous Hawkeye), Kool Aid Wagon (Lil Kool Wagon-Shesa Eye Of Rose), Watch Me Clock Doc (Docs Best Card-Spangled) and Candy And Corona (Jess Good Candy-Cartels Belle) completed the order of finish. Lil Pete El Soruyo, Lil Pistol Pete, and Classinova were scratched.
