fter AJ Run For Cash posted the fastest qualifying
time in trials for the Firecracker Futurity at Grants Pass, she came back and outran the competition in the final as well, winning the $88,000 event on July 4.
Emilio Guerrero trains AJ Run For Cash, who finished the 350 yards in :17.441 for a 96 speed index. Making her stakes debut under jockey Jose Guerrero, AJ Run For Cash was decisively the best in this race. The 2-year-old filly broke on top from the 3-post
and promptly built a 1-length lead by first call. She doubled her advantage entering the stretch and won by daylight, posting a 1-length margin of victory.
Boardshorts Stables LLC owns AJ Run For Cash, who now holds three wins in five starts—with all those wins coming consecutively. The $35,200 winner’s share significantly increased her total bankroll to $41,755.
Rancho El Cabresto Inc. bred the stakes-winning filly out of Shyann Cash, a 2001 mare and former third- place finisher in the 2003 running of the Kindergarten Futurity-G1 at Los Alamitos. AJ Run For Cash is a $63,000 graduate of the Los Alamitos Equine Sale.
Another Boardshorts Stables horse and Guerrero trainee, Ima Sixy Man (Corona Cartel-Jess So Sixy) finished second by a nose behind his stablemate. Ramon Sanchez had the riding assignment.
Jose Luis Torres owns Dash to the Flash T (Five Bar Cartel-Dash Home Deb), who hit the board in third place. The gelding is trained by Freddy Ibarra and had Jose Figueroa in the irons.
Completing the field were Corona Wagon Train (BP Wagon Train-LSG Deal Me a Lady), Dash For Five T (Five Bar Cartel-Dash Home Deb), Check The Cartel (Favorite Cartel-Check Her For Cash), Piece Of Calico (Five Bar Cartel-Glitterati), Kiss The Prize (Fast Prize Cartel-Butterfly Kisses) and DC Ladys Dashn Eagle (One Dashin Eagle-DC Lady Juno). Fancy Lyke was scratched.

of the $25,000 Rogue River Derby at Grants Pass on July 3, Leaving Angelz, as expected, turned in yet another reliable performance to register a determined victory in the 400-yard test in his 12th career start.
Ridden by Santiago Jimenez, Leaving Angelz raced in second position early. He dueled with L Bar D Mistr Cartel from start to finish, getting up in the last jump to defeat that rival by a head at the finish.
Leaving Angelz covered the distance in :19.672, good for a 104 speed index. The final clocking was just ticks away from Eyez On Brimmer’s :19.540 Track Record set in 2009.

trials on June 19, was sent off as the favorite. Ruben Magallanes owns and bred Leaving Angelz, who is out of the stakes winning mare Angel Eyez. He is trained by Hector Magallanes. The $10,000 winner’s share of the purse increased his bankroll to $78,579.
Runner-up L Bar D Mistr Cartel (Majestic Cartel- Fly Misty Fly) and jockey James Wooten Jr. just missed in a game effort for owners/breeders Darrell and Linda Sanders and trainer Hector Magallanes.
Apolinaria Prize (Fast Prize Cartel-SS Calendar Girl) and jockey Cesar Moreno finished a game third for owner Ebelin Orozco and trainer Edwin Rosales. She won last year’s John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship-G2 at Albuquerque and she also annexed the John Deere Emerald Downs Juvenile Challenge.
Riddle (Zoomin for Bux-Go Go Getter), Playin the Game (Game Patriot-Valiant Freda), Five Bar Cali (Five Bar Cartel-Queen of Cali), JS Fast N Sexy (Fastnfierce-Wild N Secy), All Ways (Fly Thru the Fire-Million Ways), Mr Ease Z Money (Mr Ease Cartel-Miss Money Hawk) followed. CM Rosie At Ta Bar was scratched.

ulgarcitos Moonin soared to his first stakes
victory in the $75,400 Rocky Mountain Futurity at Arapahoe Park on July 24.
Fernando Fonseca-Soto guided the colt to a wire-to-wire victory, crossing the finish line 1/2-length in front.
They completed the 330 yards in 16.765, while posting a career best 105 speed index.
Trained by Haley Hobbs, Pulgarcitos Moonin secured the $30,160 winner’s share of the purse for breeder/owner Francisco Cornejo, which boosted the colts total lifetime earnings to $46,965.
Cornejo bred Pulgarcitos Moonin out unraced Tahiti Wave. She has produced 100% winners from four starters, all of which are black type. Indomable Cartel is her top earner and won the 2017 Cherry Creek Futurity and 2018 Lucille Rowe Derby. In addition to Pulgarcitos Moonin and Indomable Cartel, Tahiti Wave is also the dam of Lucille Rowe Derby winner Golondrino James.
Fearless Fortitude (Flare For Ivory-Ima Fearless Fire) finished second under Martin Lazalde for owner Barron Racing LLC and trainer Jose Barron. The filly has placed second in both of her two starts.
Elunicodecandy (Send A Candy Guy-Firstlady To Themoon) pocketed the third place check for owner Sergio Lozano. The Jose Leonel Marquez trainee had Carlos Chacon in the irons. The colt was second in his July 10 trial, where he qualified with the second fastest time.
