Patriots Glory already had made a case for himself as arguably the classiest aged horse taking part in this year’s Arapahoe Park meet. The 5-year-old
gelding added to that reputation on Aug. 12, putting together an impressive run to victory in the $15,000 RMQHA Championship.
Richard and Genevieve Herrman’s homebred gelding tallied his third straight win, and ninth in 24 career starts. Patriots Glory now holds four victories in stakes company, all coming at Arapahoe.
Prepped by Hipolito Michel-Valverde, Patriots Glory drew the four hole and made a clean break from the gates under Elliot Bachicha Jr. Patriots Glory and Eyes Kudos gained some separation on the rest of the field, and Bachicha brought Patriots Glory to the front on a smooth and steady run before widening the gap during the final 100 yards to win by a half-length.
Patriots Glory covered the 400 yards in :19.902. He earned $9,000 to boost his lifetime earnings to $134,389.
Daisy N Eye, the dam of Patriots Glory, has produced three starters among four foals, two of which are stakes winners. Rare Pizazz, a half-sister to Patriots Glory, won the 2007 Lucille Rowe Derby- RG3—a stakes that Patriots Glory would win three years later. The Herrmans also bred Daisy N Eye, a 1998 mare who is stakes-placed herself.
Chicka Wow Wow (Flew Bye A Winner-Dash
For The Sixes) came on strong down the stretch to claim second for Alfred Marez. The Alejandro Chavez trainee had Alejandro Luna in the irons. It marked
the second straight out in which Chicka Wow Wow finished second to Patriots Glory. Mr Bac Splash (Splash Bac-BCR Pale Moon) took third under Russell Vicchrilli. Taunya Hammond is the owner and Larry Chavez the trainer.
Eyes Kudos (Mr Eye Opener-DG Miss Daisy) and Dash For Smash (Dash To Chivato-Smash Dance) completed the field. Bully Eyes was scratched.

RG Tres Effort made his first lifetime victory count. By winning the Aug. 11 John Deere Evergreen Juvenile Challenge, the gelding earned a berth in the
John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship-G2, slated for Oct. 27 at Prairie Meadows.
Shipping to Prairie Meadows in Iowa won’t faze RG Tres Effort. In just five starts, the youngster has traveled from his native Texas to Colorado, up to Idaho, and farther north to Evergreen Park in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada.
The journey to Canada paid off. Second in his Juvenile Challenge trial and the second-fastest quali- fier, RG Tres Effort went off as the 9-5 favorite in the final. With Sean Evans aboard, he broke second behind the filly Illthinkaboutit, who had defeated him in their trial. RG Tres Effort quickly took the lead and drew off to win the 350-yard race by three- quarters of a length in :17.930.
Donalda Cochrane trains and owns RG Tres Effort in partnership with Richard Brown and Billy Bird. Jim Reynolds bred RG Tres Effort, who sold for $18,500 at the 2011 Heritage Place Yearling Sale to John Tally. RG Tres Effort’s dam, winner Kissing Effort, has produced eight winners from 12 starters, including stakes winner RG Special N Traffic.
Illthinkaboutit (Carters Cartel-Petite Azure) finished second for jockey Juan Garcia and owner- trainer Dean Frey.
SR Rode Tah Glory (Latest Version-KR Mia La Jolla), ridden by Teagan Oulton, and Coronas Feathery (One Famous Eagle-Corona Lane), piloted by Tyler Walker, dead-heated for third. Allen Goodsell trains SR Rode Tah Glory for Mark Cassel, and Laurie Ferguson trains Coronas Feathery for Ed Borgstrom.
RD Genuine (Genuine Strawfly-Chicks Michele) and Valiant Vixen (Valiant Hero-Sheza Soverign Dash) rounded out the field. Miracle Recovery and Sixsito were scratched.

eZ Gamer is keeping a streak alive. In 18 lifetime starts, the 4-year-old filly has never finished worse than third. With her victory in the Aug.
11 Merial Evergreen Park Distaff Challenge, she became a stakes winner in two countries, adding Canada to earlier victories in the U.S. She also earned a berth in the Merial Distaff Challenge at Prairie Meadows on Oct. 27.
Despite her consistency and being the fastest quali- fier, EZ Gamer did not go favored. Chrysis, who had beaten EZ Gamer earlier in the meeting, went off as
the 8-5 favorite, with EZ Gamer the fourth choice. EZ Gamer and jockey Sean Evans broke on top. Ruths Chris and Chrysis surged ahead of them, but EZ Gamer bat- tled back and grabbed the victory by a head in :20.020.
John Harris trains EZ Gamer for owner-breeder Gary Chumbley at Evergreen. The filly won the 2010 Portland Meadows Futurity and Firecracker Futurity at Grants Pass and 2011 Portland Meadows Derby.
Chumbley bred EZ Gamer in Oregon out of the mare Easy Verna, who won 17 races during her career on the track. All seven of Easy Verna’s starters have won, and five of them have won or placed in stakes including three-time stakes winner EZ Speedy Leader.
Chrysis (Corona Cartel-Special Crys) finished second for jockey Teagan Oulton. Beverly Stockwell trains Chrysis and owns the 4-year-old filly with Buckey Stockwell. Prior to finishing second in her trial, Chrysis had won three consecutive races.
Barry and Janice Sather’s homebred Memories N Moments (Leaving Memories-Butter Milk Pie) ran third with Tyler Walker in the saddle. Janice Sather trains the 5-year-old mare, who won the Challenge last year.
Completing the field were Ruths Chris (Separatist-Pretty Jet High), Czech (Corona Czech-Im Special Star), and Just Cant Hide It (Make It Anywhere-Petite Azure). KR Cora Cove and Pardon were scratched.
