Ali Babe Foose notched his first stakes win in the $30,000 Ed Burke Juvenile at Los Alamitos on June 24.
Breaking third from the 4-post under jockey Eduardo Nicasio, Ali Babe Foose moved up to second by the first call. He dug in late to get the win, crossing the wire a head in front.
The pair completed the 350 yards in :17.732, posting a career-best 91 speed index.
Jaime Gomez trains Ali Babe Foose for owner Cesar Dabdoub. Ali Babe Foose broke his maiden in his first start and ran second in his trial for the Ed Burke Million Futurity-G1.
The $16,500 winner’s share of this purse boosted hid total lifetime earnings to $22,030.

2003 PCQHRA Breeders’ Futurity-G1, Golden State Futurity-G1 and Los Alamitos Million Juvenile-RG3. She has produced 100% money earn- ers from 30 starters. Ali Babe Foose is one of seven stakes winners, including New Track Record Setter Fly Thru Fire, Carne Vino, Rock You, Wrap You Up, JM Specialwynn and Little Talks.
Corona By Corona (Corona Cartel-Louisana Corona) and Cesar DeAlba finished second for owner Keith Nellesen and trainer Paul Jones.
Sheza Dashing PYC (PYC Paint Your Wagon- First Down Dream) finished third under Oscar Peinado for owners Margarito Farias & Jorge Padilla and trainer Jorge Farias.
DG Favorite (Favorite Cartel-Iza Sugar N Spice), Anas Image (Hawkinson-City Image), Corona Krush (Corona Cartel-Azoom Babe), BF Farmhand (Stel Corona-Spring Bling), New Girl (One Dashing Eagle-Old Girl), Tres Delight (One Famous Eagle- Tres Spice) and Kates Bowtie (FDD Dyasty-First Prize Kate) completed the order of finish.

APolitical Lady took a five-race winning streak into the $25,000 Vandy’s Flash Handicap at Los Alamitos on July 1. She kept the streak alive with a bang-up victory in the 400-yard event.
Eduardo Nicasio has been aboard A Political Lady in all of her starts this year. They broke in fourth in the Vandy’s Flash Handicap and A Political Lady quickly began passing horses to grab the lead late in the stretch to win by 1/2-length in :19.636 for a 96 speed index.
The $13,750 winner’s share of this purse boosted her total lifetime earnings to $251,703. She now has a race record of 14-7(4)-4(0)-2(1).
Christopher O’Dell trains A Political Lady for the Parsons Ranch, who owns the filly. The filly won the Los Alamitos $2 Million Juvenile last year. In 2018, she added an allowance race, her trial and the finals of the La Primera Del Ano Derby-G3, and the La Pacifica Handicap to her record.
Vessels Stallion Farm LLC bred A Political Lady out of multiple stakes placed winner Another Wise Lady. She has produced 100% money earners from five starters, including Thrice Wise, winner of the 2015 Los Alamitos Juvenile Challenge. A Political Lady is her second stakes winner and top earner.
Lesley Joyner’s homebred Jesstacartel (One Sweet Jess-Stolmeacartel) finished second under jockey Cruz Mendez for trainer Mark Skeen.
Twisted Sifter (FDD Dynasty-Bye Bye Baby Goodbye) and rider Jonathan Roman finished in third place for owner Ronnie Brooks Keller and trainer Roman Figueroa.
CM Boom Shakalaka (Carters Cartel-Mi Fames A Dandy) was fourth and was followed by Jess
My Kiss (One Sweet Jess-Dreaming Of Kisses), McFarland USA (First Moonflash-Mama Said Run) and Luxor Of Appeals MV (Tres Seis-Queen Of Appeals).

Richard Tobin is doing well with fillies by Apollitical Jess out of Tinys Corona Queen. With Tom Maher, he owns 2018 Remington Park
Oklahoma-Bred Futurity-RG2 winner Lynnder 16, and he solely owns First Of 15, who captured the June 9 Gopher State Derby at Canterbury Park.
Ridden by Cristian Esqueda over a sloppy, sealed track, First Of 15 broke on top. She crushed her rivals
by 2 1/2 lengths, going wire-to-wire and getting the 400 yards in :19.751 for a career high 106 speed index. Her first stakes victory was worth $15,368 and takes her earn- ings to $105,683. Her record is now 14-4(1)-3(1)-1(1). Jason Olmstead trains both First Of 15 and Lynnder
16. First Of 15 finished 3rd in the 2017 North Central QHRA Futurity and 2nd in the 2018 Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Derby. Tobin bought First Of 15 for $48,000 at the 2016 Heritage Place Yearling Sale.
James and Marilyn Helzer bred First Of 15 and Lynnder 16 in Oklahoma out of Tinys Corona Queen, who died of a lightning strike. The mare has produced 12 winners from 15 starters, including stakes winners Lynnder 16, Apollitical Man, and Hardtoget, as well as stakes-placed winner Rattle N Battle.
Olmstead also trains 2nd-place Painted Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Tygers Painted Girl), ridden by Ry Eikleberry. Thomas Scheckel owns the filly, who was 3rd in last year’s Prairie Meadows Juvenile Challenge. Ismael Suarez Ricardo rode Marfilmio (Ivory James-Sinuous) to 3rd for trainer Victor Hanson and owners David & Debra Harsche. Marfilmio ran 2nd in the 2017 North Central QHRA Futurity.
