Bitterroot Futurity
ROB THAT WAGON
by John Moorehouse
Rob That Wagon scored his first stakes win in the $92,602 Bitterroot Futurity at Sandy Downs
on June 22. The two-year-old gelding previously
finished a distant ninth in the Rocky Mountain Spring Classic Futurity after a bad break. There were no such issues this time. Rob That Wagon, who
won his June 8 trial to the Bitterroot Futurity for
the third-fastest qualifying time, broke on top from the 2-post in the finals, led by 1/2-length margin
at the first call and went on to cross the finish line first by 3/4-lengths. Under Nikeela Black, the geld- ing finished his 350-yard trip in :17.493, posting a career-high 98 speed index.
RTM Stables LLC and Robin Dunn own Rob That Wagon, who logged his second win in four career outs. The $37,040 payday improved his total earnings to $38,192 for trainer Mark Hanson, who also saddled the winning horse in the Bitterroot Derby, the undefeated Wagonfullofdividends. RTM Stables co-owns that horse as well.
Bob and Jerry Gaston bred Rob That Wagon out of 3-time winner and Grade 1 finalist First Tea Rose. She has produced 100% money earners from eight starters, including multiple stakes winner Rock That Wagon. Rob That Wagon is her second stakes winner.
Fastest qualifier Silver Jet Dash (Bodacious Dash-Fancy Smoking Jet) was 2nd under Leonardo Gonzales for owner/trainer Freddy Olmos. Fames Prize Stone (First Prize Stone-Go For Fame) & Rolofo Arvizu were 3rd for Gary & Jeralyn Arrossa Messenger and trainer Monty. Followed by RTM Why Not Me (Coronas Fast Dash-RTM Good Vibrations), Sheza Vital Secret (We Have A Secret- Sheza Signature), Jess Too Pretty (One Sweet Jess- Pretty Jet High), E Gmail (Hawkinson-Jess Another Ticket), Favorite Insannaty (Favorite Cartel-Voyage), Ynot Dash (Hadtobenuts-Ynot Fire) & Unwavering Patriot (Jet Black Patriot-Bac Dancer).

Wagonfullofdividends just keeps right on rolling. The three-year-old colt remains unde- feated in his racing career, this time running away with first-place honors in the $23,100 Bitterroot Derby at Sandy Downs on June 22.
The colt broke on top from the 5-gate, promptly exploding to a 1 1/2-length lead by the first call. Wagonfullofdividends continued to widen the gap, reaching the finish line 2 1/2-lengths in front.
Mark Hanson trains Wagonfullofdividends, who covered his 400-yard trip wire-to-wire in :19.568
for a 101 speed index. Jesus Canales drew the rid- ing assignment as the colt reaped a $9,240 payday, improving the total earnings of the colt to $75,280.
Owned by RTM Stables LLC and Shauna Dunn, Wagonfullofdividends improved to 8-0 thus far as a competitor, a record that now includes four stakes victo- ries. The colt won the Blattner/Pence Memorial Derby and claimed last year’s versions of the Rocky Mountain Spring Classic Futurity and Bitterroot Futurity, where he set a New Track Record for 350-yards.
Randy and Sandy Coleman bred Wagonfullofdividends out of stakes placed Ms Athenas Dividend. She has produced 100% money earners from two starters. Wagonfullofdividends is her first stakes winner and top money earner.
JT Easy Bug (Jess Got Easier-Miss Perry Bug) finished second under Dallas Erickson for owners Jill and Glen Jamison, who also trains the gelding.
Another Hanson trainee, O Dee (One Dashing Eagle-Miranda Fame), finished third for RTM Stables, LLC, who co-owns the gelding with Robin Dunn and Larry Chapple. Nikeela Black did the riding.

Roche Equine Futurity
GUYS STORM CLOUD
by John Moorehouse
Guys Storm Cloud soared to his first stakes vic- tory in the $18,050 Roche Equine Futurity at Jerome County Fair in Jerome, Idaho, on June 24.
The young palomino gelding broke well from the 3-post in second, then chased down the early leader Forever A Legacy and was ahead by a 1-length as he entered the stretch.
That separation was more than enough, and Guys Storm Cloud crossed the finish line 1-1/4-length in front.
Guys Storm Cloud and jockey Jose Figueroa finished the 350-yard dash in :17.779, posting a career-best 101 speed index for trainer L. Arreola.
The two-year-old gelding reached the winner’s circle for the third time in four career starts in this race. Owned by Heidi Robinson, Guys Storm Cloud banked a $7,220 payday, which improved his total earnings to $10,282.
Making his competitive debut back in April, Guys Storm Cloud first won his trial to the Pot O’ Gold Futurity. The only time he was denied victory was in the Pot O’ Gold Futurity finals, in which he finished fourth.
He next won his June 10 trial to the Roche Equine Futurity, winning his heat by 1-length in :17.879 for the fastest qualifying spot.
Wildwood Ranches bred Guys Storm Cloud out of Lightnin Storm Cloud. The 2006 mare won the 2008 Baxter Andruss Oregon Bred Futurity. She also had a third place finish in the 2008 Firecracker Futurity at Grants Pass. Guys Storm Cloud is her first starter.
Forever A Legacy (FDD Dynasty-Ms Legacy Lane), who also won his June 10 trial to the Roche Equine Futurity, settled for second place in the finals under the guidance of jockey Jesus Canales for owners Andrea and Eddie Jensen. The gelding, who is trained by Monty Arrossa, went into the Roche Equine Futurity unbeaten from two starts.
Arrossa also trains Thats My Church (Corona Cartel-I Go Out Walkin), who finished in third just a neck behind Forever A Legacy under rider Eric Ayala for trainer Vicente Treyes. The filly made her first start in the Roche Equine Futurity trials with a second-place finish.
Sirshezarunaway (Sir Runaway Dash-Shez Jess Magic), Dashing Candy Girl (Dashair-Found A Candy Tree), VF Elvira (Obsessed With Corona-BN Misty Moon) and Kro Painted Chick (Wagons West- Dates A Jumpin) completed the order of finish. MF Jessadash scratched.
