DOUBLE DOWN

G.R. Carter, Jr. rode Double Down to a 3/4-length victory in the $61,800 Boyd Morris Memorial at Remington Park on May 29.
Double Down was sent to post at odds of 7-1 in the field of seven. The colt broke on top from the inside gate and was never headed, crossing the wire 3/4-lengths in front for a wire-to-wire vic- tory. Double Down has raced in New Mexico and Oklahoma, and his resume includes a second-place finish in last year’s 440-yard $100,000 Corona Cartel Stakes at Ruidoso Downs.
Trained by Judd Kearl for owner Wendy See, Double Down went 400 yards in :19.566. The $35,880 winner’s share of the purse from his first career stakes win pushed his bankroll to $67,758.
Double Down recorded a career-best 95 speed index and his second win in nine races. The colt was bred by Weetona Stanley and is one of 21 winners from 26 starters produced by 3-time winner and Grade 2 placed Fast Prize Doll. The mare has foaled two other stakes winners, includ- ing Oklahoma Hi-Point Aged Stallion Fast Prize Jordan, a 2-time stakes winner during the 2013 Remington Park meet and a finalist in the 2011 Heritage Place-G1 and Texas Classic-G1 futurities.
Valiant Rogue (Valiant Hero-Azoom Babe), the 13-10 favorite, finished second. Rodrigo Vallejo rode the graded stakes winning 4-year-old gelding for owner Wyok Ranch, LLC and trainer Judd Kearl.
L.P. Frank’s Bye Byefreighttrain (Freighttrain B-Bye Bye Bygones) ran third. Benito Baca rode the homebred 4-year-old gelding for trainer Eddie Lee Willis.
Streakin PR (Corona Cartel-Bonnie Streakin), Hearts Ona Hero (Valiant Hero-Dashing Uno), Novas Gold (Gold Medal Jess-Hot Nova) and Ferrari James (Ivory James-Ferarri Fast Prize) completed the order of finish.
Easy Date Stakes
FIRST PRIZE DIAMONDS

World Champion Easy Date took the racing industry by storm in the mid 1970’s and she has a race named in her honor at Remington Park. The Easy Date Stakes for 3 year olds and older fillies and mares was worth $61,800 and was run on May 29.
First Prize Diamionds stepped away from the 4-gate even and was a tick off the lead. With an energetic ride from regular pilot James Flores, they made up enough ground to cross the line a head in front, stopping the clock at :17.292 for the 350-yard race to earn a speed index of 95.
The filly has now earned a total of $133,534 and has a most impressive race record of eight wins from 13 career starts. She has won her last eight out of nine outs.
Her connections include owner Gary W. Hartstack and trainer John Weghorst. First Prize Diamonds was bred by Weetona Stanley out of winner First Prize Diamond. The mare has produced 100% money earners from eight starters, including stakes winners PYC First Prize Mia and First Prize Denim, her top earner. 2016 Oklahoma Hi-Point 3-Year-Old Filly First Prize Diamonds is her third stakes winner.
Send Me Good Candy (Good Reason Sa-Roll On Candy Wagon) was able to hold on for second place money for her team that includes owner PV Quarter Horse Farms LLC and trainer Clinton Crawford.
G R Carter, Jr. was back in the saddle. Sudden Separation (Inseperable-Okie Dokey Annie) was able to pocket third place money. She is owned by Duane Murphy and trained by Larry Sharp. Berkley Packer was handling the reins.
Shaken Pappasito (Pappasito-Shaken Easy Dash), Jess Diva Chick (Apollitical Jess-I Aint Jo Chick), Phoebesdynasty (FDD Dynasty-My Special Phoebe), Mia Kine (Dominyun-Mia Jones), Another Desire (Desirio-Another Effort) and Southern Lulu (Apollitical Jess-Southern Price) completed the order of finish.
FL Lady Bug Stakes
PV QUEEN BEE CANDY

PV Queen Bee Candy celebrated Memorial Day with her first stakes victory in the $61,800 FL Lady Bug Stakes at Remington Park on May 29. The sorrel filly handled the field and first ever
stakes challenge with impressive control. She leapt from the 3-gate in third under Daniel Torres. The pair found themselves amongst the leaders early and solidified their dominance in the stretch. The filly was bumped, but dueled and won driving away, lead- ing at the wire by 3/4-length to finish in :16.720 and earn a career best 91 speed index.
PV Queen Bee Candy claimed the $34,080 win- ner’s share of the purse for owner Gordon Pevehouse and trainer Clinton Crawford. The filly’s lifetime earnings now total $46,602.
Gordon Pevehouse bred PV Queen Bee Candy out of stakes winner Ima Lazie Too. She has pro- duced 100% winners from four starters, including stakes placed runners PV Ima Sparky Too, her top earner, and Peves Freddy B. PV Queen Bee Candy is her first stakes winner.
“I give all the credit to my trainer Clinton Crawford and to my brother Carl Pevehouse,” Gordon stated.
Streaks Of Ivory (Ivory James-Streakin Rare) was second under James Flores for owners Jon and Brant Barley and trainer John Weghorst.
The Only Knockout (Apollitical Jess-Adolph Tres Knockout) was third under Agustin Silva for owners Five Puig Racing LLC and trainer Jose Ibarra.
