BOUT TREE FIDDY

The $50,000 Jack Brooks Stakes was run at Remington Park on May 29 and is named in honor of trainer Jack Brooks. Both Remington Park and Ruidoso Downs display a bronze statue of AQHA’s #3 all-time leading trainer.
Bout Tree Fiddy broke even from the 2-gate under veteran jockey Larry Payne. The brown geld- ing was in front at the first call and dueled with a strong drive to the finish. The pair crossed the wire 1/2-length ahead of his contenders in :17.724, and earned an 82 speed index. The $29,784 winner’s share of the purse pushed his total earnings to $116,658.
Bout Tree Fiddy is owned by Patrick E. Swan and Rusty Allred and is trained by Patrick Swan. He was bred in Oklahoma by Patrick Swan and Carry “Rusty” Allred out of graded stakes placed winner Hollie Jollie. She has produced 100% money earners from three starters. Bout Tree Fiddy is her first stakes winner and top earner.
V Power (Valiant Hero-Ferarri Fast Prize) finished second under the guidance of Hall of Fame rider G. R. Carter, Jr. The brown gelding is owned by CoCoMo Racing LLC and trained by Dustin Cox.
Carrters Thunder (Carters Cartel-Lady Bonafide) got the first call and dueled for third. His team includes owners Cuadra Ladrilleros Ltd. Co. & Juan Oropeza and trainer Stuart Steele. Jesus Salazar was in the irons.
Darker Tint (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Just Wanna Be Me), Dancing Capo Decapi (Capo De Capi-Miss Sound Dancer), Barue (PYC Paint Your Wagon-First Prize Leesa), Senator Teller (Louisana Senator-Special Teller), As And Js ( Apollitical Jess- Adolph Tres Knockout) and B Double U (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Sixes Fisher) completed the order of finish. Diceapades was scratched.

SB HOONIGAN

SB Hoonigan raced into black type at Weber Downs, winning by a head in the $73,885 Sherm Hadley/Ed Giles Memorial Futurity on May 6.
The brown gelding broke well from the 5-post, grabbing a slim lead as he went into the stretch. SB Hoonigan had enough to get to the wire first, win- ning by a head at the front of a blanket finish. Trained by Alvaro Torres, SB Hoonigan finished the 300-yard race in :15.615 setting a New Track Record while posting a career best 85 speed index.
Jesus Canales was aboard SB Hoonigan, who posted
a :15.759 effort in the April 22 trials. The gelding’s record-setting run surpassed a mark that had stood for almost 25 years. The previous 300-yard mark of :15.620 was set by Bradys Noble Pride in August of 1992. Homebred by Steve Perry, SB Hoonigan is now undefeated from two career starts. The $29,558 win- ner’s purse pushed his total earnings to $29,908.

Panthers Fast Dash (Coronas Fast Dash-Special Lady Panther) finished second for owner/trainer Julio Corral under Oscar Cervantes. Yourdarkestnitemare (Favorite Cartel-Ruths Chris), the fastest qualifier, finished third for owner Giovani Ortiz and trainer Martha Maldonado. Jose Guzman was up.

Jake Kapp Memorial
ONE SWEET FOOL

One Sweet Fool picked a fine time to return to the winner’s circle, making a strong finish to run away with the $19,515 Jake Kapp Memorial on
May 6 at Weber Downs.
Trained by Jay Pitcher, One Sweet Fool led at
every call of this 350-yard event. The gelding broke on top from the 9-gate, led by 3/4-length going into the stretch, and reached the wire 1 1/2-lengths in front.
Jockey Jose Figueroa was aboard as One Sweet Fool finished his stakes-winning trip in :18.219, logging his first victory since a 350-yard maiden last summer at this same course.
One Sweet Fool now has two victories in 10 total starts, although this marked his first triumph in stakes company. Owners Kirk Woolf and Ralph Hartline collected a $7,809 payday that pushed the gelding’s total earnings to $17,725.
One Sweet Fool was homebred by Kirk Woolf out of graded stakes winner Gigarad. The mare boasts
10 wins from 18 starts, including the Bitterroot Futurity-RG2 and Capitol Futurity and has placed
in other graded events. Gigarad has produced 100% money earners from eight starters, including New Track Record setter/stakes placed /top earner Separate Gig. One Sweet Fool is her first stakes winner.
Solid Hitter (Stel Corona-Chickasis) finished second under Rene Lopez for owners Scott Penrod and Brandon Fielding and trainer Tisa Helmick. One Hot Dial (Mark My Dial-Legend Of Fire) took third for owner Joe Duncan and trainer Riley Moosman. Jesus Valenzuela did the riding.
