I V GONE
by Dillon Hamilton
IV Gone taught the youth a thing or two in the $37,500 Jerry Jaggars Memorial Stakes for three- year-olds and up at Will Rogers Downs on Nov. 5.
The 6-year-old black gelding was one of the eldest horses entered in the race, but he didn’t let that slow him down. The now four-time stakes winner broke in the lead from the 3-gate and never relin- quished any ground to a highly competitive field. The gelding led by a head for most of the race before stretching his lead to a neck at the finish under Cody Wainscott. The pair made short work of the 350- yard wire-to-wire victory, recording a time of :17.319 and earning a 102 speed index.
I V Gone boosted his lifetime earnings to $185,337 by adding the $22,338 winner’s share of the purse for owner Celesse Fregroso and trainer Juliana Mancillas.
Breeder L. P. Frank bred I V Gone out of lightly raced Bye Bye Bygones in Oklahoma. The 15-year- old brown mare has foaled two stakes winners, including Grade 3 winner and two-time Grade 3 placer Bye Byefreighttrain. I V Gone is the mare’s only multiple stakes winner.
Favorite Exquisite Stride (Carters Cartel-Tinys Lil Jess) ran solid to finish second under jockey Joe Padilla, Jr. for owners David and Sherry Dunn and trainer Michael Taylor.
Apollitical Man (Apollitical Jess-Tinys Corona Queen) closed to finish third under James Flores for owner Terry McLean and trainer Gerry McLean.
Win Rabbits Fly (Fly Jess Fly-Break the Market), Dashin Brown Streak (Hotdoggin-Annas Streakin Dash), I Cant Help It (Corona Cartel- Pretty Girl Kate), Candy Cartels Cat (Red Storm Cat-Candy Cartel), and TRS Amazing Amanda (Just Amazing Jess-Miss Leading Coins) completed the order of finish. Pollitical Scorpion and Streakin Regard scratched.

CAPTAIN ON TAKEOFF
by Michael Compton
Captain On Takeoff continues to fly high this season. The four-year-old gelding rolled to his first stakes victory on Nov. 6, taking down the top
prize in the $17,500 Wayne Brasher Memorial at Turf Paradise.
Piloted by Martin Osuna, Captain On Takeoff broke well but veered out at the start of the 300-yard test. The gelding recovered quickly and darted to
the lead. He held well through the lane with a head advantage and defeated his rivals by 1/2-length at the finish. In winning the first stakes race of his career, Captain On Takeoff stepped the distance in a lively :15.286, just ticks off of Sea Panther Run’s track record of :15.265, and earned a speed index of 105.
Owned by Joel Merino Gamez and trained
by Charles Acosta, Captain On Takeoff was bred
by Burnett Ranches in Texas. The gelding is the first stakes winner produced out of lightly raced Takeoff Royally. She is the dam of multiple Grade 1-placed Take Off Jess, who was 2nd in the 2004 All American Futurity-G1, graded stakes-placed Poker Chip 831, and stakes-placed Jess Takeoff.
Runner-up FJ Blackdiamond (The Bounty Man-Sheza Princess Belle) offered a game chase under Emilio Tapia for owner Fernando Canales and trainer Eloy Mendoza.
Bigtime Carter (Carters Cartel-Ms Dashin Bigtime) finished a steady third under Raphael Romero for owner Abel Romero and trainer Francisco Rodriguez.
Hope On the Rocks (Fantastic Corona Jr-Summertime Dash), Liberty Lajolla Sa (Fantastic Corona Jr-Babydoll La Jolla), Jessflipacoin (Jess My Moon-Smart Dawn), Closing Time (TR Dasher- Singles Scene), Yeah Ima Country Boy (Prime Talent-Stolen Honor), Sorelli (Brookstone Bay- Cupids Special) and All Right Now (FDD Dynasty- Already In Love) completed the order of finish.
AQRA President’s Fall F.
MOVIN THE DOE
by Dillon Hamilton
After a second place finish in the Western State Breeders’ Futurity in Sept., Movin The Doe decided to improve on his fine form for his first stakes win in the $41,800 AQRA President’s Fall Futurity at Turf Paradise on Oct. 30.
The 2-year-old sorrel gelding entered the com- petition with decent odds, considering he posted the slowest trial time of the final field after a 5th in the Oct. 15 trials. He broke on top in the finals under jockey Emilio Tapia. The pair joined the heart of the field early but surged midway down the track
to find the lead. They drifted some but pulled off
a 1/2-length victory. They scampered the 350-yard track in :17.953 earning an 88 speed index.
The gelding’s earnings rose to $47,632 after claiming the $20,900 winner’s share of the purse for owner Luis H. Gonzalez and trainer Angel Dominguez.
Breeder Steve Berry bred Movin The Doe out of lightly raced Bundle Doe. She has produced 100% money earners from six starters, including stakes winner Gunnin For Doe. Movin The Doe is her top earner.
One Sweet Dasher (One Sweet Jess-Zoomdasher) surged at the finish to overtake most of the field
and placed under Jesus Osuna for owner Ugo De La Torre and trainer Mario Loza.
What Up Buttercup (Tac It Like A Man-Fifty Party Night) followed in One Sweet Dasher’s wake to surge into show under Vince Guerra for owners Mary and John Allred. John Allred also trained the filly.
Altanero (Captain Courage-Fishers Flower), Cowboys Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Mexican Radio), The Prince Corona (Royal Quick Dash- Tellherwerehopeful), Tres N Candy (Tres Seis-Sex N Candy), and Riot Act (TR Dasher-Penny Pritzi) completed the order of finish. A Chick In A Daze and K Kardashian scratched.
